Nice hotel but issues

Lovely looking new hotel in a good location, but a few problems: only one of three lifts broken, very long queue for breakfast which then kept running out of things. The beds are also too small and no fridge/just instant coffee in the rooms.

Won’t stay again.

There was a queue to check in and only one member of staff, who seemed to also be working in the bar. We asked three times for an alarm call to wake us to go to Heathrow. This never happened so we were an hour late leaving. We told the man as we checked out - but he seemed disinterested and did not apologise. Staff seemed either missing or disinterested in us. Would NOT stay again.

Okay

Check in was nice and simple. The room was compact and no space for a working desk area. View was nice. Breakfast was simple and nice variety. When requested vegetarian option for hot alternatives I was told there is one and all what was there. Upon further request to clarify I was told the bakery goods are the only vegetarian option available. Needed space for work meetings and work and had to use public space that was noisy and not very private.

We stayed at the Maldron Hotel Brighton City Centre for a few days and had a pleasant experience. The location is excellent-just a short walk to the beach and about 15 minutes from the train station. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and our room was clean and well-equipped with nice extras like bathrobes, toiletries and bottled water. We paid extra for an ocean view, but it was mostly blocked by another building, so it's not worth it. The hotel restaurant offered good but average food, though the service was excellent. The buffet breakfast was varied and good value, served until 11am and charged per room, not per person. On the day before checkout, we requested a late checkout and were pleasantly surprised to be allowed to stay until noon at no extra charge, which was a nice gesture. The area around the hotel is quiet, with most dining options by the beach, which is just steps away. Brighton Pier is about a 15-minute walk. Overall, the hotel was comfortable and quiet with great service. We’d consider staying here again on our next visit to Brighton.

The room was freezing cold when we arrived and we could not warm it up. The air conditioning did not go high enough and we had to wear our coats in the room (the corridor was much warmer). We asked to change room and the new one was a bit warmer but even when reception set the maximum temperature higher the A/C would only go for around 15 minutes before stopping so the new room was never fully comfortable either. Hard flooring doesn’t help to make the room feel comfortable either.
