I liked the facilities. The issue for me was a family playing table tennis b4 8a.m.We turned in at 10 p.m re your rules.Maybe a know table tennis before 9 at least would be a fare rule to?
Close to local amenities, easy check in, good instructions. All essentials provided, cool bathroom. Lots of cooking equipment for use in communal kitchen. Pool table, tennis table, board games.
Les points faibles : Personnel et service et confort de la chambre
Lovely Concept, but Needs Better Security for Solo
I booked The Coal Shed for a recent work trip and arrived around 4pm, but ended up leaving later that evening (around 10:30pm) as I didnât feel comfortable staying overnight.
It appeared I was the only person on site, there were no staff or other guests around, and the room door couldnât be bolted or securely locked from the inside. The fire exit door also looked quite flimsy, which made me feel uneasy as a solo female traveller.
The room itself was clean but more worn and scuffed than shown in the photos. With a few safety improvements and more visible on-site presence, it could be a nice place to stay, but unfortunately it just didnât feel right for me on this occasion. I do think it would be great for groups.
JÀnnÀssÀ paikassa sijaitseva urbaani hostelli. ViihtyisÀ ja rauhallinen, erityisen persoonallinen!
Ohjeet sisÀÀnkirjautumisesta tulivat ajallaan ja olivat hyvÀt. Erinomainen hinta/laatu-suhde.
Nice alternative to conventional hotels and apartments. The structure offers a room and a social dining/relaxing area available for all the guest. We enjoyed meeting other travellers and playing ping pong and snoocker
Alright location and conditions but difficult parking (no spots available or provided), periodic noise like a small pump getting activated for few seconds every minute or two (maybe from the AC unit), broken bathroom door and TV remote not working (only able to power one-off the TV). There is no concierge and email response is slow.
We had a great stay. It was a city break with my two children and we really enjoyed the experience. The CoalShed has real character and was a great place to hang out with my kids and use as a base to explore all the great stuff on offer in Bristol.
We loved the games facilities and the 'honesty bar', which is a great idea and was definitely welcome in the evening.
The communal area is great for socialising with the other guests as well.
The rooms were comfy and really well laid out, there was everything we needed.
In short - a great stay and would gladly go back.
Really good hotel and really good value for money. Tea, coffee, milk and granola provided for breakfast and a decently priced honesty bar. It's completely self check-in and check-out. The only negative is the low number of plug sockets in the room but that's a bit pick
