Room badly designed, bed too big for room, no hooks or other hanging near to door, bathroom cramped, ie had to close door to reach the loo, no bin near tea making for used stuff, not enough tea and coffee packs. Poor lighting, nothing good anywhere for reading. No easy chair with reading light. TV dim. Good points, airy open stairway, key card worked, bed large but comfortable, heating ok, but unable to change despite thermostat.

Comfy bed, quiet room and friendly staff. Would have been 5* but I found the bar/restaurant menu limited (few ‘fresh’ veg options). The kitchen did prepare me a side salad when I asked but it was an additional £8+ charge. All very tasty though and breakfast was great.

Very comfortable stay. Bed was comfortable. No bath available in the rooms apparently and shower room was basic but functional and clean. Breakfast again basic but nice quality and so refreshing to see products in glass dispensers rather than mountains of plastic waste from sachets. My room (134) had a faulty window seal which meant noise from the road outside was a nuisance.

Our air-con wasn’t working on the first night. Woke up roasting at 3am with the thermostat showing 25 degrees. We struggled to get back to sleep. Explained this to staff and they let us know they have 24 hour service. We are hardly going to get up and dressed at 3am to go to reception and have an engineer fix our air-con. The mini fridge was also not working. Even then changing rooms at that time of night would be unrealistic. We managed to get free breakfast for one morning but this was only because we asked. The breakfast was good.

The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast s also good - although being a week day and there being plenty of "business" visitors having an early start too, it was busy and there were some minor delays waiting for refreshes. The ground floor toilets were a bit "functional" (more like a department store toilet than a hotel one) in design and made me wonder about the hotel decor when I first arrived. But I was pleasantly suprised as the design of the rooms and corridors was pleasant and welcoming - albeit the piped music was louder than I would have expected.
