The cottage was beautiful, very tastefully styled and everything was spotless, a much appreciated bottle of milk and tea / coffee. The walk to the harbour and lovely shops and restaurants was very short, a few steps to get back to Higher Street but once you knew about them, it was fine.We did get a bit of a surprise with the stairs leading to the bedrooms, we didnât expect so many and small steps and no landing to step into the bedrooms, but again something that you adapted to, it was the original fishermanâs cottage which we worked out.Our main problem was outside the cottage, we had travelled from Australia and on a 7 week trip so we had lots of luggage and therefore had to hire a car big enough for it, (an MG SUV). We entered Higher Street but didnât know what number the cottage was so we kept going past to the narrow opening a little way past the cottage, this caused a small scape on the side mirror, We had to turn around and work out the number of the cottage. After we had unloaded we were going to follow the map supplied for parking but a neighbour told us that they did mit think the car would pass through a particular spot so we had to go and find somewhere to park, we found a spot on the harbour near the University which was safe and secure for 4 days and just a short walk back.We loved our holiday in Brixham and would go to Seabird cottage again, the only thing I would suggest for visitors is to advise the street number and not just the cottage name.
