Wonderful stay, super hosts, couldn't ask for more
The welcome I received was super and, from the get-go, all the staff were extremely happy to help in any way, possible. Martyn was a super star with nothing being too much trouble or inconvenient! I had the rather embarrassing situation of having my (company) credit card declined upon arrival however, with a simple smile and very pleasant attitude, Martyn waved away the immediate situation with a view that 'we can look at it again, tomorrow'.
Unfortunately, the beer was too good and the room too comfortable for me to make evening dinner. 6 hours of driving pre-arrival also played a part. I certainly wish I had made dinner because the menu looked wonderful and the breakfast the following morning was simply exquisite! Warm croissants followed by a cooked breakfast didn't help my waistline but it certainly made me feel extremely content!
Overall, and I commented the same when (thank goodness) my card worked the following morning, I will CERTAINLY be back once work brings me to this beautiful part of the UK once more.
A fab little inn. So pleased i found thus place to stay, situated on outskirts of Brockenhurst village. Welcomed by Manager Dave Hutton who explained everything we needed to know re booking in process, breakfast times and info regarding evening menus. Shown to room which was absolutely perfect and the little touches inc toiletries, home made cookies with wide range of teas/hot chocolate/water/milk in fridge. Nothing was to much trouble when speaking to sny of the staff.
This is a dog friendly inn for dog lovers.
Constructive criticism: May be an idea to put some type of air freshener/room scent on stair/corridor leading to rooms, purely as
Non-doggy owners notice the very strong smell of dogs, particularly if the dogs have wet coats etc after walks.
Our stay at the Filly was excellent. The room was clean the bed was huge and very comfy and the breakfast was delicious.Well worth the stay snd would definitely go again
When we checked in and went to the room, it was in the eaves which made it feel small and a bit claustrophobic. There were 2 Velux windows but they didnât let in much light or air meaning it was quite stuffy. I asked if there were any rooms with windows but was told all rooms were in the roof due to building restrictions and it being a listed building. If Iâd have known this, I wouldnât have booked but there was nothing on the website to say this. The room look ok on the surface but was very dusty. We decided to we didnât want to stay so got a refund and went and stayed somewhere else. It was a shame as the location was good and the pub looked nice.
Lovely staff and accommodated us despite the Expedia booking not feeding through to the hotel computer system which was incredibly embarrassing and stressful for me on arrival. Not the hotels fault but Expedias.
I enjoyed my stay here but I think it's just a bit overrated
Room was lovely but very warm
Food was good in parts but underwhelming in others. Basic things not hard to get right. 'Saute' potatoes swimming in fat, chips cheap and frozen.
We chose the Filly Inn after reading through previous reviews, it did not disappoint! Great service, great food, great drinks, great room. We stayed for one night the rooms come with everything you could need and more! The menu has such a great selection, so good it makes it hard to decide and makes you want to stay longer! The breakfast was top class as well! Such friendly staff too made it a perfect stay and would 100% go back
Lovely stay in a charming part of the new forest. The owner was wonderful and the breakfast we were served was so nice and made it feel very worth it to have stayed.
