My spouse and I stayed 4 nights. The cabin looked to be well built but in need of regular maintenance and updating. Dripping bathroom sink and bathtub handles seemed to be stripped. Old coffee pot. Sparcely furnished kitchen but a new stove. Rust on the vent hood. The refrigerator was cold but the exterior paint finish on the door was distressed. The microwave had rust under the turn table which it didnt turn. The front door threshold was crushed and had about 3/4" gap- under the door. I could slide my fingers under the door gap. Bedroom door did not lock. Dim lights in bath, bedroom and den areas. BBQ grill grate was rusty. Outside needs repairs. Cabin is listed as pet friendly but we brought no pets and beware that we had fleas inside the cabin. They were abundant and even got into our dirty clothes bags and in the bed. I called the number and complained and they said they would tell maintenance and notify the owner. If they say pet friendly cabin "beware". With some updates and maintenance this would be a nice cabin.
BEDS/ROOMS WERE GREAT, ENJOYED ALL THE BEDDING, TOWELS AND DISHES BEING PROVIDED. CABIN WAS QUITE ENJOYABLE. THE POND OFF OUR DECK WAS LOW AND DIDN'T SEAM TO HAVE ANY FISH. IT IS ALSO JUST ONE ROW OF TREE FROM 259 SO ALL DAY AND ALL NIGHT LONG IF YOU ARE SITTING OUTSIDE YOU ARE LISTENING TO THE CARS AND TRUCKS DRIVE BY. KIND OF A BUMMER IF YOU GO FOR THE QUIET OF NATURE. BUT THE CABIN ITSELF WAS AWESOME FOR OUR FAMILY AND WE HAD A GREAT TIME.
I booked this "efficiency" cabin well in advance with the host. The host: Creative Escapes had plenty of time to ensure the cabin would be in decent condition. When we arrived after driving 2 and a half hours from.our hometown the cabinnwas freezing (49 degrees room temp). We call service and they send out their handyman who looks at the heater and says "well the heat guy has to come fix this". So the host moves us, instead of giving us a comparable cabin they put my wife and I in a shack, not a cabin, the size of my daughter's bedroom. This is valentine's Day mind you - we had no choice, it was Valentine's Day and we wouldn't let this company ruin our night. We stay the night in this one room shack that i didn't pay for, then call the host management company the next day. When we first get on the phone with the host manager she automatically was condescending and immediately said she didn't have time to deal with our situation. Sje said what i paid for and the "room" they put us in were the same price. So after 4 calls to VRBO customer support the host finally agrees to partially refund the stay. I then get an email from the host which stated: per our conversation earlier we agreed to a 129 dollar refund that will be processed as long as you do not post any negative reviews online or in any social media platform. So i called VRBO again and told them about the attempted extortion. Now I realized this company needs the 130 dollars more than we do. Stay away!!!
The cabin was beautiful and exactly what we needed for our family of 4. I sent multiple messages to the host before and during our stay to ask questions and they responded quickly. The host even generously gave us a piece of fudge from their sister family. Our boys loved running and playing outside. However, the cabin was not well maintained and my husband fixed a few things while we were there (knobs on doors falling off, handles on pans falling off he retightened and some drawers were missing knobs) small first world problems. Also we did not receive an email with checkin instructions until I messaged the host asking for them; I even checked my spam folder. Besides these small things it was great.
The cabin was cute but rundown and badly equipped with very sparse basic utensils etc. Very OLD coffee maker, no ice maker , TINY microwave.
Really needs some basic maintaince and equipping.
Upon arrival, there was no water this lasted for several hours. That night and most of the next day the water was nasty brown. We had a wedding rehearsal and a rehearsal dinner that we missed because of this. We also like to froze that night as we could not get the heater to come on. The next day the water was still nasty brown and still no heat. We had to go to a friend's place to shower and get ready for the wedding. I called about these matters and they came to see about them. They got the water fixed but the heater was not fixed. So we froze again the last night as they could not fix it. It was our very first time to rent like this and it will be the last time from you guys.
If you are looking for something basic and rustic, this may be a good fit for you. My bf enjoyed the place, however he also enjoys sleeping on the ground outsideâŠ..
Upon arrival, the trash was overflowing and all over the ground by the cabin. It was still full when we went to check out 2 days later. There was a bird INSIDE the cabin that we had to chase out. The sheets and towels were clean, but the blankets, throw pillows, futon, etc were very musty smelling and made my allergies go nuts. The cabin itself was clean, but old. Cobwebs on the light fixtures, dirt in the corners, decor had a sticky film on it, etc. The master bed was held up but a large rock and a piece of wood (which was found when the bed slid off the wood and had to be âfixedâ). Tried emailing the property on the first day and still have not heard back. The âstocked pondsâ was true but barely. The fish were small and more in the little pond versus the large main one. The water pressure in the shower was just OK, however the shower head is meant for people 5â6â or shorter (my bf and I are 5â9â and 5â8â). There was no firewood provided. Overall, it was a bit of a disappointment for myself. I would go back to the area but most likely use a different cabin company.
