The property itself was beautiful. However, I would be very wary booking in the winter months because if a winter storm hits, your ability to get a refund or change your days is near impossible. We did not anticipate the polar vortex that decided to hit the weekend of our stay. The only option the host left us with was to reschedule within the next two weeks or lose all our money. This was a group trip and took months to plan so getting multiple people to reschedule in two weeks is not possible with various schedule we gave an alternate date, but that wasnât an option. VRBO was also no help unless there was a âvolcanic eruptionâ. I guess a polar vortex isnât good enough to warrant stepping in to assist. Original booking was Thursday to Sunday but we had to leave Saturday in the ice/snow that hit Friday night. The host had no issue with asking us to drip his faucets to help them out, but offered no refund to us for having to leave our trip early. Only after the fact, when we already had to leave early did they offer to allow us to stay, but yet again thatâs not an option for everyone in a group trip. Communication was terrible. Again the cabin was lovely, minus the indoor fire place not working, they had a small fake fireplace in front of it. The hot tub was also off on arrival so we wasted a day heating it up which we were already limited on time and there was some sediment sitting in the seats of the chairs when we first opened it.
