This property needs a lot of help. The carpets are very stained (blood included). The backyard was covered in dog poop. The gas BBQ was gross and didn't work. Overall this property was not up to usual VRBO standards. Very disappointing.
From check-in you check-out it was great. Our family had such a fun time. The house was more than we anticipated. We are so grateful and we would 100% stay there again!
Fantastic visit to Brookings. This place isn't ultra modern or updated, but it provides plenty of space, a lovely hot tub, and a very homey feel. No AC, which really isn't an issue on the Coast anyway. Some of the box fans were wonky, the hairdryer was MIA, and the closet bedroom did not have a window screen, which made it a little stuffy. It was harder to access a beach than we anticipated, but a lot of that has to do with the ruggedness of the shoreline around here. Kitchen is very well stocked. We had trouble with getting the streaming to work since we don't have logins. Also would prefer a key code instead of one old fashioned key. Overall, though, this is a great place for a getaway!
We stayed at this property for 5 nights in June/July and had a great experience! We were a total of 9 adults and 2 small dogs. This house is huge and had lots of room for us to spread out. There are 3 bedrooms (the sunroom connected to the master bedroom also has a bed); one of the bedrooms has a loft with a futon mattress and one of the bedrooms has a small room (bigger than a closet) with a bed for a total of 3 queen beds, 2 full beds (one in the sunroom and one in the small room accessed through a bedroom, and a futon mattress in the loft of the other bedroom. The owner takes a lot of pride in this house and the furnishings are comfortable, the backyard is fenced in for pets, and there are plenty of dishes and pans. We had lots of hot water and good water pressure. It is close to the Samuel H. Boardman corridor and Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park. Just be aware that this is an older home and has the quirks of an older home but it is well taken care of, extremely clean and very comfortable. We can highly recommend this lovely property.
We had a nice stay here - 2 adults, 2 small kids, 1 dog. Itâs very roomy and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed such as coffee maker (and coffee!), rice cooker, pots/pans/utensils. The fridge and freezer were spotless. We used the hot tub one night. I knocked off one star due to the beds being very firm and not very comfortable. I also was not aware of the person working on landscaping one day and they left the backyard gate open, my dog does not run away but it could be an issue for other dog owners staying here fyi.
The house was very nice and spacious. Located in a very nice location. Everything you need for a stay is there for you. We went through amd vacuumed everything as well as washed the towels, wiped everything down. We always try to keave things better than when we arrived. Would love to stayagain in the future. Thank You
This house is great for large groups. The yard is gorgeous! Lots to do for the kids. I will say it was not as clean as we would have liked. We washed the sheets because it was obvious someone slept in the bed with dirty feet. The sunroom is no lie! It may be on the west side for the house, but it is just as bright when the sun comes up. Overall great stay! Would book again!
We were visiting family who live up the Winchuck River so it was convenient to see our kiddos, grand children and great grands! We loved the fact that we could bring our dogs and stroll down to the mouth of the Winchuck. As for the house it is tired. It could use a little TLC. The spa cover smelled old and the spa didnât seem to function properly. I showered afterwards and could not find a hair dryer so the following day I purchased one and took it home with me. I also cooked us some lasagne, the oven hasnât been cleaned in quite some time. The home has plenty of rooms, storage, games galore but couldnât find a dust pan to save my life. The kitchen is well equipped except low on forks. I hope that the owner knows about the siding that is missing on the back side of the chimney? As a property owner of many houses and rentals I would say this house really needs a lot of work.
Perfect dog friendly home away from home. The property was as listed. Clean, roomy. Definitely more room than we needed. I was quite please the yard is completely fenced in. My girls (dogs) were comfortable and safe. Short walk to a nice beach not very populated and close to many hiking trails. Each day was filled with adventures between the mountain and the sea. The nearby town of Brookings is quaint and friendly. I believe this is my new favorite spot on the Oregon Coast.T
