Once an old antique shop, this cabin still carries that sense of discovery—warm, textured, and timeless. A dining space invites long meals and laughter. A bunk room with four beds and a queen bedroom offer rest. A clawfoot tub with on-demand hot water soothes after adventure. Enjoy walking to everything in Buena Vista. Coffee, rivers, breweries and music nearby. Come on to the cabin down below. You may not ever leave this mountain haven.

Built in 1948, this house belongs to a later chapter in Buena Vista’s long story — a town shaped first by ranching in the Arkansas Valley, then by the railroads that helped connect this mountain community to the wider West.

In time, this little place took on a story of its own. It was once home to Little House Antiques, a shop on Cottonwood Avenue where old things waited to be found, admired, and carried forward into new lives.

Today, it is known as The Cabin Down Below — This historic cabin is in the heart of Buena Vista. The Eddyline Pub is a stones throw away and the legendary K`s Dairy Delight is just across the street.

Once it held discovered treasures.

Now it holds discovered moments.

Guest will have access to the whole cabin. There are a few locked closets for the owners and supplies.

Please note: Like many homes in Buena Vista and other Colorado mountain towns, this home does not have air conditioning. However, temperatures in the mountains cool significantly in the evenings. Simply open a few windows and turn on fans to quickly cool the space and enjoy the fresh mountain air.

The Cabin Down Below offers its guests a garden. The front desk is open around the clock.
