We stayed here for Elon Parents Weekend and found the space itself to be great — roomy, colorful, and in a convenient location for visiting campus. It worked well for our small group (just me, my spouse, and our elementary-aged child), though we didn’t need all the space.Unfortunately, there were a few issues that really impacted our experience. We encountered cockroaches during our stay, and our son became afraid to walk on the floors because of them. That was disappointing and not what we expected for a property at this price point.Then, two weeks after checkout, we were unexpectedly charged 98 for a broken chair that we did not damage. We had actually asked to extend our stay but were told it wasn’t possible because new guests were arriving right after we left — so it was frustrating to be blamed for damage that clearly occurred later. The owner acknowledged the chair itself only cost 25 but claimed the entire set had to be replaced for “consistency.”Thankfully, VRBO resolved the issue quickly and removed the charge, which I really appreciated.Overall, while the home has good space and location, our experience with cleanliness and the post-stay charge made it difficult to recommend.

Did the job, but could use an owners attention

This home has some charm and nice finishing touches, and we appreciated the character of the older house. However, there were several issues that impacted our overall comfort and experience.The house was moderately clean, but the a/c is not sufficient for a summer stay.This property has potential with proper care and attention, but based on our experience, we wouldn’t stay here again.

Wedding weekend

Great house and cute decor. For everyone nicely and the mattresses were amazing. The communication with the property manager and Host was not great. The air conditioner stopped working as we were preparing for a wedding on a 80 degree day and no one came to help. The water in the downs to bathroom and kitchen sink was brown for a few hours and no one communicated with us after we called to ask for help. Finally the day before we left, someone showed up. My hope is the communication will improve because the house is adorable and was perfect for us.

This home was perfect for our weekend stay for graduation at Elon. The house was inviting, clean and the hosts were responsive. The game shed was a fun activity for the younger adults and the living space was perfect for our small brunch gathering with family and friends.

Shower weekend

We were in Burlington to celebrate upcoming birth of my third grandson. This was a perfect space for my daughter and her family. Quiet, updated space with the best bed I’ve ever slept on besides my own!! We would definitely stay here again!!

Fantastic

We were in town for a wedding and the location was very convenient. There was just discrepancy in the room/bed arrangement that caused us to shift people around. But it all worked out and everyone in our group “LOVED” the place. We will definitely book again if we have the need.

Only good thing was property manager

The listing is not accurate. It says house it’s a triplex with a neighbor beside and below. Backyard access is next to none. You also share all outside space with other 2 rentals. Insulation on bottom floor living spaces is next to non existent heater couldn’t keep front bedroom warm. Had a leak in upstairs shower. (Not owners fault) but response time was not great leak started at 7am called it in fix didn’t happen until 3 pm and the fix was to not have hot water on upstairs bathroom. And had no hot water anywhere until fix happens (7am-3pm) so none of my guests were able to shower that day. But most importantly the listing is not accurate. Not a house. Owner is non responsive but his property manager thankfully helped us in the end. Cleaning lady was outside an hour early waiting for us to pack making checkout awkward and rushed. All in all I wouldn’t rent again, this house or any property by this host. My expectations are simple. Just an accurate listing. Overall was happy with cleanliness and price. Just the listing was inaccurate and many things like doorknobs and stuff were broke when checking in. (Fixed myself) which I would not have minded had it again been what I paid to rent not something else.

Great spot with a fun vibe!

We loved our stay here! The decor throughout is so fun! Very clean, kitchen was well equipped, and the space was functional. Also the location was great for us. We walked to the Arboretum, city park, and a local bakery. The house does have a few small construction projects (main level bath) going on currently but it did not impact our stay in any way. The owners have done an amazing job taking an older home and combining a fun modern vibe. If we ever need ti be in the area again we’ll stay here again.
