We've been going to the Outer Banks for several years now with our 2 boys, and decided to add Buxton to our list. Real quickly, the town was great for what we needed. Of course it's not going to have everything that the busier northern towns do, but Conners grocery was great, and there are a couple of decent restaurants. As for the house, it's about what you'd expect. It's a little bit older and could use some updating. The bathrooms were clean. The kitchen was adequate. One issue was the microwave. It was above the stove and the hood for the stove. I am over 6 feet tall and putting things in it was tough. I would imagine anyone shorter than me would need a stool. The AC worked great. The pool was in nice shape. With two kids under the age of 10, having a decent pool is a must. The house was about a 5 minute walk to the beach. No worries there. My biggest issue was the beds. The master bedroom was quite possibly the worst mattress I've ever slept on. The other bed wasn't much better. The kids didn't seem to mind the bunk beds.Overall, I'd recommend this place. The house has the typical wear and age issues that most houses in this price range, but nothing that would keep me from coming back. 7.5/10
Great location once the beach area opens up from oil spill. House was big enough for our family of 4. We cooked some meals and there were enough dishes to do so. Dishwasher was full when we got there so had to run it and put away dishes. Pool was not open but pool guy came during our stay to open it for next people checking in. Overall, good place.
Just us and our dog, perfect getaway! Quiet neighborhood, off season so not too much going on. House was nice, cooked some meals at the house and went to a local sports bar as well. A great weekend away!
Overall, we loved our stay at Knot A Care. Location was excellent! Easy drive to the beach and delicious restaurants. Pool was great. The fenced in yard was perfect for us and our dog. We didnât get to do a fire in the pit, but that would have been great with plenty of seating around. We watched tv only a little bit, but we had access to any app. No issue with connecting to WiFi either. We had access to the washer and dryer so we were able to wash all of our clothes before heading home. We ate out the whole time, but there were plenty of cooking items available if you wanted to cook in. I canât say enough good things about this place. We would stay again, so I think that says it all.
Overall a very nice place. Had everything we needed. Could use a good cleaning (ceiling fans, shelves, etc), but nothing that prevented us from enjoying ourselves. .
This was the perfect little beach house for a quiet and relaxing week. Very cozy home with a small, but well kept pool to stay cool during those hot summer days. The only thing I would say needs upgraded would be more kitchen supplies for cooking and cleaning and a working grill, other than that, this little beach house was a little gem, my family and two dogs enjoyed our stay immensely....would definitely come back!
