Nice stay, although I would have preferred a room not on ground floor as just had view of car park but will know next time to ring and request. Keys not explained at all - as I was in separate building - once I managed to locate the building as not marked very well, I didn't realise at first there were two keys on keyring and had to work out (took a couple of turns rather than just one like a 'normal' lock) how to unlock the door to get in said building. But overall, bed comfortable, tea & coffee facilities ok so would use again.
There's not much choice on Canvey Island. Oyster Fleet was OK but urgently needs refurbishment. Bedroom was adequate, reasonably priced, but needs an overhaul generally, particularly the paintwork. Public areas were also showing their age. However, the place was obviously popular with locals. Atmosphere was friendly, particularly the reception staff.
The service was very good and helpful but unfortunately the room was very cold for my four night stay.
Also I was not given clean cups for the room during my stay.
Clean and tody hotel, needs a refurb as looking a little tired.
Britians smallest tv in quite a large room.
But comfy bed and a good nights sleep.
Food in the restaurant was great value and quality
I had a great stay at the Oyster Hotel. I went for one night and when we arrived the receptionist was warm and friendly and all the staff we had an interaction with were all very friendly. The bed was very comfortable and I slept great. Check out was at 11am so we got up and had breakfast (I had the vegan breakfast with eggs and it was ok, my partner had a full English and loved it).
I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
We stayed in a 4 bed family room and it was very spacious and well laid out. The whole hotel is in need of a bit of updating and could have been a little cleaner, however it was still good value for money and I would stay there again.
