Feels like Home

This cozy cottage will make you feel right at home! Two adults and two kids fit just right in this home. We loved all of the finishing touches that made you feel like you were welcomed over to an old friends house. In addition, the yard with outdoor shower made beach clean up a breeze - in fact we only used the outdoor shower (inside is a bit tight). The kitchen is small, but we eat out a lot of meals on vacation anyway. Come to cape Charles for the beach - stay for the bread, ice cream, and charm in the little hangout

Adorable little cottage!

This place is tiny tiny tiny but super adorable and totally comfortable. Our family isn’t one to stay “home” on vacation so it was more than adequate as a place to crash after a day at the beach/in between activities. The outdoor shower was great and we loved all of the board games and toys that were there to play with. If you are the type to want to cook all of your dinners and stay in every evening this probably isn’t the place for you as the kitchen was small but we did just fine cooking breakfasts and lunches for the family as well as a dinner or two. Super close to the beach, on a nice quiet street. The decor is super cute. We would definitely stay here again!

This cottage was a dream! It was impeccably clean, beautiful, tasteful decor and well-equipped with tons of ‘extras’ we didn’t expect. It was incredibly located too, just a short walk from the beach. A perfect getaway home that clearly has had a lot of love put into making it cozy and accommodating.The only downside was that we picked this specific home due to the fenced yard advertised. We brought our dog, for a significant additional fee, and when we arrived, the yard is indeed NOT fenced in. There is one small gate and no fence as pictured, and listed. I hope this will be adjusted in the description by the listing company.

Let me start with the big complaint. If you're over 6'2", just go somewhere else. The door frames are low, the crossbars are low, the showerhead is low.

It was exactly what we needed as a Family of 4 (2 Adults and 2 Kids) for our Week Vacation at Cape Charles. We loved how the house was just a short Gold Car ride to the Beach and if we forgot something it didn't matter because the kids Loved riding back to the house! The Kitchen was adorable and defiantly had all our needs. No Dishwasher but we came prepared with paper plates which made clean up easy. Tons of Games and Toys for the kids...they didn't even touch the toys we brought! Loved spending quality time with the family during our Beach week at this wonderful Wild Blue Cottage!

I would suggest that there be further renovations and upgrads to the kitchen and bathroom to keep up with the neighborhood. They still are rather dated. Realizing that it's just a small cottage, I still believe some further modernized upgrades to the kitchen and bathroom are still possible while maintaining the cottage's charm and history. All in all, a pleasant stay in a wonderful neighborhood in a great location. Couldn't be better in that respect. Lots of possibilities with just a little more work in those two areas.

Fabulous!

We had the best stay at Wild Blue! This was our first visit to Cape Charles and it did not disappoint. My husband and I brought our 3 1/2-year-old and three month old girls. The house was decorated in such a cute way, was so well appointed and had lovely touches that we really appreciated—toys for the kids (our toddler quickly and happily found train tracks and blocks to play with and enjoyed the books at bedtime!), a pack and play, high chair, baby monitor and sound machines in all rooms. The kitchen had everything we needed. We so appreciated the kids plates/cups, kitchen tools, spices, Tupperware, etc. Little touches like a few laundry pods, rolls of toilet paper, paper towels and zip lock bags and to get our trip started didn’t go unnoticed! Location is great and neighbors were super friendly. House is convenient to the park, beach and Cake Charles down the block was a fun surprise! Overall, this is a fabulous rental and we loved our stay! Thank you!

This was by far the best place we have stayed at Cape Charles in our few years of coming here. With little kids, this home is so well thought out- the furniture and decor is sturdy, comfortable, easy to clean, and sensible. The single story living is great because you don't have to worry about stairs with little ones and the front door and back door are excellent access points to get right to the beach which is only a 5 min walk away. The outdoor shower is very large and you can easily hose off kids and beach gear. The house came very well stocked with all the dishes needed to cook and clean, as well as with comfortable bedding and pillows, and moreover, the beach towels were clutch. This saved us so much room in our car not needing to pack these things. With little kids come messes at meals as well and there was everything needed to keep things tidy as well. A hand vacuum and floor vacuum are available and it laundry was a very helpful amenity as well (it did come with laundry pods even though we brought our own which was very thoughtful. Everything about this house was just so well thought out, even down to the wooden kids toys and games that we did use often due to 2 of our 4 days being rainy. We can't recommend this house enough and the owners made it feel like you're walking into their home for a stay instead of a hotel or some place you need to be worried about your kids touching things. It's very kid friendly. Very parent friendly. Even pet friendly. 10/10 loved it.

The location is wonderful, and it's clear that a lot of care has gone into the maintenance and upkeep of the cottage. Although the listing says it has a dishwasher, it does not (unless it's hidden in a closet or somewhere that we couldn't find), so you will want to grab paper plates. It was a perfect spot for my family with small kids, but the bathroom is very small and the cottage may not be a comfortable fit for a group with more than 2 adults or older kids. But we loved our stay!

The cottage was lovely, and just a block and a half from a beautiful, pristine beach with extensive shallows and calm surf. Great place for little kids. Cute little place all around, and I hope to visit again soon.
