The common areas such as the hallways i thought could've used a bit more attention but I cut the hotels in Carlsbad some slack because they are primarily used by oilfield workers. The room was clean and comfortable, the parking lot well lit to guard against thefts and the breakfast was hot and ready at 6am when i needed it. Overall i had a pleasant stay and would definitely stay again.

Didn't quite meet our expectations

It was okay. The rooms were nice. The Saturday morning breakfast left a little to be desired. I like a good hot breakfast, but the amount they put out went quickly with that much competition. They served ham, mini cheese omelets, and crispy potatoes. Sunday wasn't as busy and it was a better experience. They served the potatoes again, but with sausages and scrambled eggs this time. The pillows were of various types, letting you choose the ones that suit you better. The beds weren't quite as soft as a couple of fluffy ladies would prefer. The thing that surprised us the most was the temperature of the indoor pool. It was cold. Really cold. Since we chose the place based on the hot breakfast and the indoor pool, we would choose a different property for our next visit.

The AC in the room had to work really hard to keep the room comfortable and it was a rainy, overcast day. It took forever to fall to a comfortable temperature. The pool water was cold so our granddaughter only lasted about 10 minutes there. The bathtub did not have a drain plug so only the shower could be used. This is not convenient when traveling with young children. The breakfast was good with a variety of choices and lots of protein on offer. I would describe our stay as “just okay” and we are not picky travelers.

I booked thebwrong day (non-refundable) through Expedia. The hotel worked with Expedia and got it chamged to the correct day with no extra charge. On top of that, the hotel is very clean, beds are cumfy, and all around just a great place to stay!

Loved the concept of the hotel and how close it was to Carlsbad Caverns National Park. The front receptionist couldn't care if I lived or died and took more than 15 minutes to notice me at the front desk to check in.

The room was spacious and the breakfast was great! The only issues I had were the television was messed up and it took half an hour to get it on, the AC was mediocre (it said 60 but an actual thermometer said 70), and you could hear the cars racing down the road and people (we were on the 3rd floor).
