At least that was my fear as I walked up on the porch and punched in the entry combination. I was extremely relieved but somewhat surprised that the combination worked and we crossed the threshold into this gorgeous house. I mean...What was the catch? How could they offer such a beautiful house with so many great amenities at this low price? A few blocks from the Pacific Crest Trail and the Bridge of the Gods, nice breweries, groceries, coffeehouse, and restaurants in easy walking distance...centered close to all sorts of parks, trails, and natural wonders. Ideal location in every respect.
The house was well stocked with all sorts of odds and ends that we as Americans rely on: A fully equipped kitchen, washer, dryer...even a first aid kit. We also had a couple cold, rainy days where the sauna was well appreciated.
A couple of the comments mentioned the traffic noise. Highway noise can be heard from the bathrooms because of their orientation to the highway, but in the living room and bedroom the noise is barely audible, and a nice sound machine is in the bedroom to drown out any noise for light sleepers.
I suppose that I should mention the only thing that I can conceive some Americans might find disappointing: Only one small TV. Not a complaint for us as we were too busy engaging in all the area had to offer to want to waste our time watching TV...Plus, the house is well stocked with many entertaining books.
OK...I'd better end this. Loved the house, loved the area!
