It was fine. There were a couple of things that were a little bit out of order. They were open containers of food in the pantry and a damp towel hanging in the bathroom, like it was drying and used recently. Besides that all is well.
It was inexpensive. Old, run down but neat and clean. We did encounter a couple centipedes in the bathroom.
THERE IS NO COFFEEPOT or hairdryer which would be the dealbreakers on ever starting there again.
House is exactly as expected. Cute and cozy! Nothing fancy but exactly what we needed and wanted. Perfect size for a short weekend or extended stay. We wanted to stay longer for work but it wasnât available for us. Definitely will go back if it comes available. Thanks to our host for being so helpful and accommodating.
My sister and I are both seniors (over 65) and are in Cedar Rapids at least twice a year to visit Mom in Memory Care.
We were obviously delighted with the low fee for the yellow house, but realized when we arrived the reasons for that price.
On a positive note, the house was pretty clean, the hot water didn't run out, even when we showered one after the other; we still had enough to wash dishes. The water pressure was incredible as well. A fabulous shower!
The kitchen was pretty well-stocked and we were able to prepare a few meals there, but then realized there wasn't a table or chairs to eat at, so we had to scoot up to the coffee table to eat.
I left the owners a note with some ideas on items to change or fix, but refuse to harp on bad points, so I won't.
