Went for the casino with sister and husbands and we had a great time. The house was a little small for us but had 3 bedroom so it worked well. The 3rd bedroom was upstairs and no bathroom so we didn't even used it. When we go to WV we go for the casino only so this was 20 min from it so it worked well for what we need it for.
My son and I were visiting my childhood city so I could show him where I grew up and this house was a perfect place for us to rest at night. I'd definitely stay here again.
The house was cute. It was myself, my husband two of our sons and another mother and son. Plenty of places for everyone to sleep. It was a little difficult with one bathroom but we knew that ahead of time. The washing machine is tricky but it works eventually. Very clean and updated nicely.
The house met and exceed our expectations. The communication with property manager was on point. I'm disappointed that I won't be able to used it for my next upon coming visit. But I'll will be looking for it other future visit.
The good â it is a convenient place to stay if you have a car. I rented this house so that my group of three would be comfortable for a 3 night stay in Charleston. It had snowed the night before and day of our arrival. When I contacted the property manager to say my flight landed, he informed me there was a shovel in the house and I could shovel the walkway if I wanted. When I got to the house, I found that the cleaning crew failed to empty the full trash can in the kitchen. During our stay the bathroom door fell off the hinges. Regarding each item, I reached out to the property manager. He told me where the trash can was outside so that I could walk through the snow to empty the prior guestâs trash. The property owner acted surprised that the bathroom door had fallen off the hinges, but clearly this was an ongoing problem (tiny screw had been used to affix the upper hinges). My son remedied the hinges so the door would close. The owner has a no refund policy so make sure this is where you want to stay. I was aghast that roughly half of the expense for our stay was cleaning fees and then we had issues to deal with. I was further disappointed when we were stripping the beds (youâre required to strip the beds before you leave, load and start the dishwasher, and take out the trash) and neither bed had a mattress pad, nor did the pillows have liners under the pillowcases. GROSS. I would not stay here again.
Good stuff: The house is comfortable, with GOOD beds and couches. Kitchen is furnished pretty well and has all the basics anyone would need for a few days of cooking. The house gets cold as soon as the heat stops actively blowing, so make sure you bring warm house clothes and slippers if youâre staying in cooler weather.
Bad stuff: My 67 year old mother got locked in the bathroom twice because the door knob came off. We requested someone come to fix it a couple days before the end of our stay and no one did. The hot water handle on the bathroom sink was broken when we arrived, as well as one of the blinds. Several kitchen implements had been put away dirty (covered with egg) and the drawer in which the kitchen tools are kept was dirty. The dining room table was set and had a vase of roses, and the roses got debris all over the table and settings so that they had to be washed before using. There were no toiletries (or complementary snacks or gift as the listing mentions) and the hand soap in the bathroom was empty when we arrived. There was garbage from the previous occupant left in the shower. There was animal fur on one of the pillows. It is clear whoever cleans the house did not do a thorough job. For $232 in host fees, the state of the place was very disappointing, especially when no one came fix the broken bathroom door knob and we had to use the facilities with an open door for two days. We tried to put the knob back together ourselves but it kept getting stuck.
We had a great stay in a convenient location. Accesible to everything. Even our pups were happy and enjoyed walking the neighborhood with all the other dog walkers in the neighborhood. The property could use some maintenance but we got along just fine!
The property was nice and in a good location. I do wish the back yard would have been fenced in completely since it is pet friendly. One bathroom was quite a challenge with 6 adults. Overall a nice time.
This home has all the amenities you expect in a home. The combination of the very responsive host, amplitude of sleeping locations, spacious backyard, grill/fire pit, and charming neighborhood make this location an idyllic place to stay! I would definitely recommend this home to anybody staying in the Charleston area.
This Charleston, WV home was lovely. V Located in Khanawa City, just a few blocks from the river. Ten minutes to downtown and the convention center, cute neighborhood to walk the pups. We were visiting our son who is a news producer for WCHS TV. Highly recommended - we would definitely stay her again!
The house was a perfect spot for our family to hang out when we werenât cheering on our nephew at U of C baseball! It was clean, the location was perfect, and had everything we needed. Thank you!
We enjoyed staying in the house while we were in the area for a family gathering. Our only complaint involves the pet fee listing. There was some vagueness and discrepancy from the listing to the communication from the Evolve team. Each time we communicated with them, the fee increased. With the help of the VRBO team, we were able to resolve the issue.
