Book your wedding, rehearsal dinner, or private celebration downstairs and skip the transportation and timeline gaps that come with a venue across town. Guests with a confirmed Rutledge Room event can inquire about added perks for their stay.

The stylish open concept kitchen is the perfect place to enjoy your time with your family & friends or get ready as a group for your event or night out. Help yourself to the fully-stocked coffee bar in the kitchen to start each day off right and enjoy your favorite meals at the dining table for 10.



OUTDOOR SPACE:

Located on the back of the home is your private veranda. Perfect for enjoying a glass of wine, reading a good book, or watching the sunrise.



PARKING:

Parking is provided for one (1) car in the parking lot behind the home.



LARGE GROUPS:

For larger celebrations, all five luxury homes at The Preserve can be booked as a wedding block. Add Unit B for the full 8 bed / 8 bath Rosemary House, or reserve all homes and host 80+ guests across one portfolio. Bridal party upstairs, parents and out of town family down the block, and the venue on the first floor.

This is unit is fully licensed and legal with the City of Charleston under STR Operational Permit OP2025-06654 and Business License BL030575-11-2022.



Guest Access:

Each of our vacation rentals is accessed by a keyless door code for ease of entry and allows for a zero-interaction check-in/check-out process. A door code specific to each guest’s stay will be provided the day before your check-in. If you have any questions about directions or access to the property, our team would be happy to assist.



Guests can enjoy full access to the unit and all its amenities.



The Neighborhood:

Located in the heart of Charleston’s Cannonborough-Elliotborough neighborhood, the home sits in a lively downtown area known for its mix of residential streets, local restaurants, coffee shops, and proximity to King Street. The neighborhood is highly walkable, with many of Charleston’s popular dining, shopping, and nightlife options just a short distance away. Because of its central location near busy entertainment areas, guests can expect an active energetic environment, especially during evenings and weekends.

Charleston is a very walkable city, but just in case, here is a list of the top transportation services:

Other Things to Note:

✹ The Rutledge Room is an event venue located on the ground floor of the building. While all events conclude by 10pm, please note that there may be additional noise following that hour.



✹ Pets are NOT Allowed. As much as we love furry companions, pets are not allowed at this property. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. If a pet and/or pet evidence is found at the home, we reserve the right to charge a $150/pet fee.



✹ This is a 100% smoke-free property:

Smoking is strictly prohibited indoors. A fine will be charged ($300) for any in-room smoke evidence. If you wish to smoke, please do so at least 10 feet away from the building outdoors.



✹ Noise Notice:

This home features separate upstairs and downstairs units; vertical noise transfer might happen. Noise from events at The Rutledge Room may also lead to sound traveling.



✹ Please be advised that:

A local noise ordinance is in effect from approximately 10:00 PM to 10:00 AM, with stricter enforcement during nighttime hours. Guests must be respectful of neighbors and keep noise levels to a minimum during these hours, both indoors and outdoors.

We do not offer refunds for noise-related issues that are typical of a shared residential area and coastal community setting.

By booking, you acknowledge and accept this island setting and the potential for ambient and neighborhood-related noise, including from adjacent or nearby units.



✹ To help us ensure a great stay, guests must allow us the chance to address any issues during their visit. Contact our 24/7 Guest Services Line for assistance.



✹ Refunds will not be issued for concerns reported after checkout or when resolution efforts are declined.



✹ We do not control neighboring properties and cannot offer refunds due to dissatisfaction with external factors.



✹ We do not provide refunds for utility outages or service interruptions that are outside of our control.



✹ If damage or excessive cleaning is required after checkout, we reserve the right to charge an additional fee equivalent to a full cleaning.



✹ Please note that we cannot assume responsibility for vehicles parked outside the designated parking areas.



✹ Please note that we will not make exceptions to the cancellation policy associated with your reservation.



✹ Hurricane Policy / Extenuating Circumstances:

In the event that a Mandatory Evacuation Order is issued for our county by the Governor of South Carolina during your stay, we will provide a full refund of all payments made.

If no such order is issued, our standard cancellation policy remains in effect, even if weather elsewhere impacts your travel plans.

We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance, especially during hurricane season, for added peace of mind.
