Clean property with great bedroom space for large groups.
The Gemstone is a gem! Beautiful bedrooms with most bedrooms having private bathrooms. Living room and kitchen spaces are plenty large and equipped. Only hiccups were street noise, one bathroom sink didnât drain and dryer did not work but overall good for groups needing easy downtown access. I would rent this space again if needing to be downtown.
The property itself was very comfortable. We had 11 people from our family and each couple/individual had their own room/bathroom. The front porches were cute to sit out on unfortunately you were sitting facing an ugly wall from another house. We were a little farther from the king Street hot spots (restaurants/shops) but still within walking distance to get there (maybe a mile). The unfortunate part was as soon as we arrived at out check in time, 3:00, there was only one housekeeper cleaning this huge place and so we weren't able to get in until 3:40. We had to sit and wait across the street. Housekeeper said we were supposed to receive a call from Property Manager to let us know but we never received one. Once we were in we realized the air conditioning wasn't working well in upstairs unit so we called a left a message with Property Manager and she never returned our call all weekend. Little things like not having a coffee pot for our coffee maker and only 3 coffee mugs and no frying pan. We found extra pot upstairs and took some of the mugs and frying pan from the top unit but had we not rented the upstairs unit as well, we would have been without a coffee pot/mugs/frying pan all weekend. I think the Housekeeper was doing the best that she could alone for that massive place. But the property manager not returning our call about the air conditioning or even calling us about the late check in is unacceptable.
Great property for the family! We were in Charleston for a family wedding and we rented the house and it was wonderful! Eight bedrooms eight bathrooms were perfect! The only hiccup was the check in process. We werenât able to check in through the app. Eventually we were able to contact the property manager and the information was texted to us. Other than that, it was great!
We are a group of up to 16 women ages 30-70 who travel every year to Charleston in December. We have stayed in many wonderful homes but this was by far our favorite! Great layout, every bedroom has itâs own bathroom, Interior stairs, fantastic location and lots of room for everyone! Beautiful accommodations and Megan was terrific to work with! A wonderful time for everyone! Highly recommend!
This house was perfect for 22 of us! It's nice because it's 2 units, but they connect! The host was so sweet and let us go in super early Friday morning because no one was staying there that morning. Would highly recommend and can't wait to go back!!
We were visiting Charleston for my sister's bachelorette party. The home had a perfect lay out for our group. It is within walking distance to many restaurants and activities and an easy Uber ride to the harbor. The house was clean and bedrooms very comfortable. We loved the large porches and spent every night sitting in the rocking chairs.
We had to make some last minute adjustments to our reservation and the property manager was very helpful and responsive.
I would recommend this house to any large group looking for a place to stay in the heart of Charleston
We were a large group and this house was perfect! Great floor plans with two kitchens -- we rented the entire house. Large bedrooms, nice bathroom and plenty of linens, dishes, etc. Loved it and would rent again. Fabulous location! Walked everywhere.
My family had an unusual situation bring us to Charleston - during the COVID lockdown, no less. This property was perfect for us; it provided the perfect place to quarantine, rest, relax, and gather together with our family. Megan was responsive and helpful when we had questions and we could not have asked for a better experience - especially considering the circumstances. We look forward to coming back to this property for future fun-visits!
A Beautiful house in a great location, attention needed in some areas
Our overall stay at 205 Coming St was positive and we would probably book again in the future.
We were pleased with the ample off-street parking. The renovations are exceptional!
A few things to note:
-We called a bed linen issue to the attention of the property mgr (Megan) to prevent issues for future guests
-The house located beside is occupied by male college students-be aware!
-We were not informed the dishwasher was still out of order
-2 bedroom heating units did not work
Megan came on a Saturday to address our issues and we were assured she would bring blankets, unfortunately she did not return (with no further communication or follow-up)
The house was stocked to the grade of a B. We suggest providing a dishtowel and more blankets, along with labels or instructions to operate various remotes & split a/c system.
Great stay. Close to main activities on King street. The Five Loaves restaurant two doors down was excellent. Property manager replied promptly.
Suggestion: a book with basic instructions (dishwasher operation, what the button next to the kitchen sink faucet does, fan operations - remote only works for one fan, and possibly general Charleston information) would be helpful.
I had a group of 13 come down from the all over the country and this house could not have been a better fit to suit our needs. From spacious bedrooms to the the 2 decks we had everything we needed.
Also, I canât stress how good the location is, the house is practically next to the nightlife district on Upper King Street with historical Charleston just being a pleasant 20 minute walk away. I can not recommend this place enough!
The house is exactly as described online. It was clean and comfortable. We had one issue with the dishwasher, it was not working and we had to make due. Since it was over a Holiday, we understand it may have been difficult to have someone come to fix it. The location was great, walking distance to restaurants and shops. A good experience. Thank you!
The home and the location was perfect for our work retreat. The updates were well done and the beds were extremely comfortable. The house was a short walk from great restaurants and popular bars. Weâll definitely stay here again.
The house has very recently been renovated. While most of what has been done is good, there are still some items that have to be completed or improved. That said, we really enjoyed staying in the house. There were thirteen of us and we all appreciated the comfortable beds and many TVs.
This property worked really well for our group of 8 adults coming together for a family reunion. There is an internal staircase so the house had plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen was easy enough to use though we did have to bring a few of our own things for Thanksgiving cooking. Meghan was easy to work with and was there to help us when any issues arose. The house itself is modern and updated with great amenities. It's central location was perfect for walking around and enjoying the city and we had an enjoyable time overall.
We had a blast! The house was beautiful and comfortably fit 18 girls. Megan with Charleston Concierge was informative, friendly, and easy to work with. I would definitely come back and stay again!
We had an amazing long weekend exploring Charleston, and this property was simply perfect! We were a group of 16 people, and each couple had their own room with bathroom. There were two great kitchens and living rooms, a picturesque porch, and the location was perfect! We had easy access to King Streetâs restaurants and bars! We could not have asked for a better house for our weekend away!
