The host, AvantStay, was welcoming and they were quick to respond to all communication. The home was clean and very comfortable for our family Christmas. One thing that stood out to us was the arrangement of sleeping quarters. The spaces are nicely separated so each of our four family groups were able to have some privacy. This also helped with noise—some people stay up later. Overall, this was a great stay. Nice neighborhood, clean home, well appointed. And, the nice surprise was that it was tastefully decorated for Christmas. Thank you AvantStay for a great holiday home.

The home was located in a great spot of Lake Norman, so the jet skiing and boating. There was also plenty of good water for swimming and paddle boarding. The home was spacious with enough room for everyone as we had 2 families each with 2 twenty-something children. The kitchen was well stocked and the home provided toilet paper, garbage bags, paper towels and bath products. This was a nice surprised as these are things we usually have to provide. We had a great 4 days at this home.

The house was perfect for a large group. 3 Separate main bedrooms allowed for privacy. The basement with pool table/ lounge and beautiful grill area were great for hanging out together. Having one bedroom on the main floor was good for our older couple. The cove was quiet and easy to get in/out of and being at a less traveled part of the lake it afforded some good paddle board/kayak time. It was within 15 mins by boat of a restaurant on the lake, if desired.The main rooms were spacious enough for the large group, kitchen was well stocked with supplies. The stairs to the dock were abit steep for older folks. Deck off kitchen was a nice outdoor spot that didn’t have stairs to access. Drawbacks: Mattresses were lumpy and dipped in the middle. 2 shower drains were clogged but manager was quick to respond to text and maintenance came within a few hours to fix the issue. Beautiful views and private.

Disappointing

The house itself was fine, but the pictures are outdated. 1-The leather sectional in the LR is gone, replaced by a white fabric one that someone had taken a black sharpie to. 2-The hammock is gone. 3-The life jackets listed consist of about 6 very old, ripped children sized life jackets. Zero adult sized. 4-The paddleboards are very old and cracked and one actually had mushrooms growing out of it. 5-The kayaks are just as old and cracked as the paddleboards - without mushrooms. 6-There was no pinball machine in the "game room". It had been replaced by a dehumidifier... 7-The table with umbrella pictured on the upper deck was missing and replaced with a table with no place to put an umbrella which made it too hot to enjoy. 8-All of the furniture pictured in the outdoor kitchen is gone. There were a few backless barstools next to the bar and that was it. 9-The only thing that worked in the outdoor kitchen was the grill. Last but not least, the water level was very low when we went. I know this has nothing to do with the house itself but you may want to check with Duke before you book. The house is in a cove within a cove and instead of seeing water, we got to look at mud. A lot of mud that didn't smell great. I expected more for what they charge.

Loved our stay

This was the perfect home for our family to be together and celebrate Christmas. There was plenty of room for three families, including kids. The property has a beautiful view of the lake, wonderful outdoor space and is an overall lovely home with all the right amenities!

Large airy lake house

Great place for extended family. Younger generation loved the bottom floor with pool table and doors to outside deck with fireplace. Seating in main living area was a bit lacking when compared to the number of people the house sleeps but lower level made up for that. Kitchen was the best stocked that I have ever experienced.

Family Birthday Gathering

Our family enjoyed our stay at this property. The accommodations were as listed. It provided plenty of space for our family. We enjoyed the game area & outdoor space with canoe's. Then neighborhood is beautiful, it gives the effect of being in the mountains. The neighbors seemed friendly as well. Management was quickly responsive, We would stay again!

This home has a large amount of space which was great for my family. A perfect location that is nearby to the state and the town. However, the property could use some upgrades. It needs some major cleaning. Spider webs inside the window seals. The walkway down to the dock and the dock itself has no lights.

Family lake vacation

The entire family, of three generations, enjoyed our stay at this beautiful lake house. Loved the easy lake access and the large “kid” room was perfect for sleeping six kids. The kitchen was well-stocked. We especially appreciated having plenty of soaps, detergents, and even shampoo in the bathrooms. Check in and communication during the trip was fast and efficient.

Has Everything You Need

We loved our stay at this rental. Our group consisted of adults (ages 35 - 72) and children (1 - 6). Many times, rentals do not have certain items you hoped it would have. As far as cookware, it had everything you could want to prepare meals. We were impressed with the quality of kitchen tools as well, it wasn't the typical old/overused items. We found many entertainment items to keep us and the children occupied when we were not out on the lake. The dock on the lake was perfect for the pontoon boat we rented. We enjoyed sitting out and eating on the upper deck area as well as grilling in the outdoor space below the deck. The bedrooms were all great size and very well kept. There was plenty of space for our group. As far as location goes, we felt everything was very close driving distance for when we needed to leave the house and gather supplies. The management group provided great communication leading up to our stay, during, and after. Overall, we would certainly book this location again the next time we visit Lake Norman. Thank you Lakecations!

Great House!!

This house worked out great for our trip to Lake Norman. It’s not in a high-traffic part of the lake, but has great access to everything you need. The house itself was very comfortable and well equipped. Owner/management was very responsive and intent on making sure we had a great experience. Thx!

Beautiful Lake house

The stay my family and I had here was amazing! We had everything we needed to enjoy my cousin's 40th birthday. Everything at the property worked perfectly! We had no complaints about one single thing! We will definitely be back again in the near future! Thank you all so much for having us!

General Overview

Very good property, but not at the current rental cost. Some of the rooms are a bit small and there were several maintenance issues a couple of which required management to get outside services. Management responded timely to all maintenance requests.

Great House for Lake Fun

We enjoyed our 4th of July holiday stay at this property. We had 15 people including 7 kids ranging from 0-18. The house was kid and teen friendly and worked for a large group. It was located in a secluded cove surrounded by private homes, no other rentals. The neighbors were friendly and invited us to watch their fireworks display which was stunning! The lake level seemed low but that didn't spoil our water fun. The house next door was affected but fortunately not this house. Our dock included more gear than we thought including 2 kayaks, a paddle board and a few floats. We also rented a boat for a day and a slide/platform for 3 days. Rental Agency can give you all the information on this. They were very helpful and good communicators for most part. One snafu with check in was they sent us a new code 10 mins before check in. That code didn't work, but the original one eventually worked. Unfortunately, we were standing outside in hot sun for 10 mins with groceries before we figured it out. Otherwise, our stay went smoothly, and the house was well equipped. However, when they say bring all your food, that also means any spices including salt and pepper. Overall, it was a great home, location is convenient and Lake Norman is a beautiful area!
