Great location and yard, not so great in certain areas.
Yard was great and house was open and good for having space. Water tasted terrible and was brown brown. Washer looked old and stained and it stained all of our white clothes rust color. Has an ant problem which may be temporary or part of the trash issue. Trash was 3/4 full and very smelly, probably due to last renters not getting the trash out on the right day but is crossed out in the stay list book. Refrigerator is small. Place is a bit outdated and pictures are a bit deceptive. Neighbor is very nice and helpful! Water area is not good for swimming due to rocky shore and a lot of mucky algae but is nice to look at. Overall not a terrible experience but the water issue needs to be addressed as well as some appliances. Felt it was over priced due to the things I mentioned.
Clean and accommodating. Not far from SUNY Plattsburgh. The fog on the crystal lake was a nice reminder to slow down and enjoy a cup of coffee each morning.
Overall a nice place on the water. Beautiful view ! House is bright and open. Somewhat outdated and could use an update to furniture and appliances. Dishwasher wasnât attached to the counter and just pulled away when I opened the door. Microwave over the range was non-functional. Needed extra blankets as the included nlankets were paper thin.
Beautiful and comfortable modern home with lovely views of the lake. Very well equipped for BBQing and cooking a variety of meals. Outside tables provided a scenic dining option. Beds were very comfortable. Kayaking was fun, but a two person kayak would have made the experience more enjoyable. Having two bathrooms was helpful and the hot tub was a delight.
Right on the lake with gorgeous views. We loved the covered porch, the kayaks, the fire pit,
( except the ashes need to be emptied out regularly, I donât think they ever were) we loved the house and the openness of it, it was a bird lovers sanctuary, the bedrooms were nice. The neighbor was exceptionally helpful and friendly.
This was the perfect location for us to get away! We have never been in the region so waking up at 5am to get on the water with the sunrise, having a base camp for exploring the community during the day then coming back to cook dinner and play board games was just what was the game plan.
The house was large enough for the four of us to spread out yet come together in the great room/kitchen. Having amenities available helped us with cooking dinners and baking a birthday cake! I would suggest more chairs for the living room to gather around the coffee table for games.
Deb, the neighbor, is so welcoming and helpful! She offered to answer any questions as she grew up in Chazy and even offered to let us borrow a kayak and come over for a fire! My favorite was watching her exercise Molly on the lake!
John was very responsive when I had to reach out about the door code and fan switch in the bunk room (behind the door & bunk post). We did have a communication issue after the trip, but nothing that hampered the experience. I would not hesitate renting this house again!
Thank you again John, you have a great lakeside home!
The house is so much more spacious than it appears. Kitchen is a great size with abundant seating. Views are spectacular, people we met in the area were extremely friendly. We didn't stay in the summer, but this is definitely a perfect kayak base camp. Will definitely consider coming back in the summertime for just that.
You could square dance in the great room! Spacious porch, quiet waters to kayak or swim
in. Comfortable furniture and beds, well-equipped kitchen, including a choice of placemats. A railing on the stairs to the lower garden would be helpful.
It was clean and enough room. If you are fussy about grass in lakes, etc. it may not be the best place for you to swim but the kayaking is great and 15 minutes away is a sandy beach. It worked well for us. The kitchen is very big we were eight people. We were originally going to be 10 and that would have been too many people for the space unless you donât mind someone sleeping in the living room itâs not super cosy and there werenât enough chairs in the living room for all of us to sit down. The kitchen could use some more cooking pans and things like that. The knives could be sharpened⊠but generally for a family summer visit itâs good.
This property worked well for us as we have family in the area. We all enjoyed the lake and use of kayaks and paddle boat. We also used the gas grill for a cookout and the bar seating worked perfectly for our meals.
The property is located on a large cove providing protection from waves that can be present on Lake Champlain on windy days. The neighbor, Debbie, was very friendly and let us use her 2 kayaks and paddle boat. The property included 2 other kayaks we could use. The lake bottom is sandy and rocky so you may want water shoes. There were often ducks, geese, and heron (I believe) nearby or on the property in the morning/evening hours to observe. We enjoyed watching them, especially on the rainy days from under the covered patio. The house was very spacious with high vaults in the open common areas. It has comfortable beds and nice bathrooms, especially the master. The kitchen has a very large Island (lots of counter top space).
Located in a quite lakeside residential neighborhood. Great room ( living room, kitchen, dining room perfect for gathering as a family. Covered patio facing lake, perfect for breakfast time. Waterfront/ outdoor area ideal for kayaking and SUP. Bathrooms are spacious, modern and clean. Primary bedroom bed is comfortable.
Quiet neighborhood with peaceful waterfront. The house did have a heavy odor of bleach/ cleaning products and the overhead fan in the bunk room was not working, but I bought some fans from the hardware store. Other than that it was a pleasant stay.
This lakehouse made it possible for my large family to comfortably visit with family in Chazy. We made every meal in the large kitchen or on the grill and were able to eat together. We had some impressive thunderstorms which we were able to enjoy on the porch under the protection of the roof. Luckily it didnât get hot outside until the day we left because I imagine the house would get hot.
Simple Lakehouse, open floor plan, access to lake. Room to play board games, and spend time as a family on rainy days.
Owner was very responsive. Property was clean and well maintained.
The host John was accessible. Property beautifully situated on lakefront. Neighbors are very gracious and kind. Debby was kind and helpful. Let us use her kayaks and paddle boat. John and Linda were saviors. Saved us from a kayak disaster. Quiet place for a relaxing stay. Thank you host John and neighbors.
The house was beautifully set on Champlain lake. We loved spending evenings around the fire overlooking the lake. The neighbor was very hospitable. The house was clean and came with all needed amenities. It was a plus having two kayaks.
We had so much fun. This house has all the amenities for a perfect vacation. Our family included all ages from 16 months old to 65 years young. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We will definitely come back. Thank you so much.
