Lovely Cosy Cottage

We really enjoyed our short stay at Lilac Cottage. It was spotlessly clean and had a cosy home from home feel. It is very well placed for walking into the town where there are lots of nice shops and eateries. The kitchen is quite small but it is very well equipped, however we found that with so many good pubs and takeaways on your doorstep, cooking was not really that necessary !

Lilac Cottage

We had a wonderful stay at Lilac Cottage. The cottage is absolutely lovely and cosy, with everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing break. It’s beautifully kept and feels like a real home away from home. The location is fantastic — with shops, cafés, and pubs just a short walk away. A perfect base for exploring the Cotswolds. We’d happily stay here again and would highly recommend it.

A perfect stay!

Our first time in the Cotswolds, celebrating my 30th with my husband and dog- it was everything we could’ve wished for. The cottage was perfect, well equipped and stunning. It had everything we needed, including little touches like milk, cleaning supplies, towels etc. The enclosed garden was perfect for our dog, he loved it! The town is a few minutes walk, and there are some stunning walks around the area which we really enjoyed. We can’t wait to come back. It was perfect.

Perfect Cotswolds retreat, it’s absolutely gorgeous here very private and quiet, fully equipped it had everything we needed. Perfect location for stow on the wold and we will be definitely staying here again, loved it xx

Superb cottage and location

We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend stay at Lilac Cottage. Such a charming and cute accommodation, real home from home. We sat in the garden and it was so relaxing as we were also lucky with the weather! The location was ideal for visiting surrounding areas. Highly recommend this gorgeous cottage.

We really enjoyed our stay at Lilac Cottage. The facilities were fantastic and it felt very homely. The cottage could benefit from a deep clean (skirting boards, kick boards, high level) but otherwise it was perfectly acceptable.

Great little cottage, with good garden for our dog

We stayed here before with the previous cottage company. It is now a lot less cluttered, but the cleanliness has not improved. Perfect garden for our dog to play in, good location with parking space to explore Stow. Nice and warm with modern decor. Recommended for a Cotswold holiday.

Delightful in Snow

The snow was unexpected but added to the character of surroundings. Cottage comfortable and warm. Location excellent for walking into Stow for hospitality. A privilege to bring our dog too although we made little use of garden.

A great time at Lilac Cottage

We had a lovely time with our two spaniels, sharing the first half of the week with family as well. Comfy rooms and a great secure garden for the dogs and the toddler. A perfect base with a short walk into the interesting town centre and short drives to Birdland, Arboretum and Wildlife Park all of which were great with a toddler and allowed dogs on short leads in as well. Highly recommended!

Spring break countryside

This was the perfect place for our small family to escape. Easy 5 min walk into town. Well appointed home and all things in good condition. Cozy. Easy parking. Lovely little fireplace, make sure you bring or buy more firewood bc it burns well and was so nice to have! Heating works great.

What was not to like!

Extreme value for money, excellent position for walking to shops and restaurants. Secure garden for the dog, parking next to cottage………..quiet location with quiet neighbours……. Comfortable and sunny bedrooms….absolutely nothing to complain about…….thankyou

We had a wonderful first stay in Lilac Cottage. It was spotlessly clean & very well equipped with all we needed. We would like to say thank you for the goody pack on arrival. We enjoyed so much that before leaving Stow we tried to book it again for September but unfortunately it was all ready booked but we will definitely return soon.

Lovely cottage, perfectly situated.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Lilac Cottage. It is situated on the edge of the town but within easy walking distance to all the shops and eateries. The cottage itself is very well maintained and very homely making it perfect for a holiday cottage. The garden could do with a bit of a tidy up but that didn’t detract from the overall experience. Kevin the manager was also very helpful when I rang him. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely Spring Stay at Lilac Cottage

We stayed 4 nights in Lilac cottage in April 2026. We were aware of celebrating my partner’s birthday with our toddler and two dogs. We found the cottage comfortable and really liked that they provide a baby gate to stop both the toddler and the dogs going upstairs. The enclosed garden was also very helpful and lovely. The cottage provided everything you needed for your stay (the only thing that was missing for us was kitchen roll but it didn’t bother us enough to contact the property manager) The beds were comfortable enough but I was definitely ready for my own bed by the end of our stay. The cottage doesn’t provide a cot or a highchair so you need to bring these with you. Bringing travel cot is easy enough but bringing a highchair is a little more tricky so we didn’t. It feels like it would be helpful to have a highchair provided and I feel like there is room to store in one of the wardrobes in one of the bedrooms. Location is perfect with a short walk up to the High Street and is easy access by car all the lovely villages and towns in the Cotswolds. We would definitely consider staying again if we were to visit the Cotswolds.

Comfortable stay

Comfortable stay just a few minutes walk to shops, pubs etc. Short drive or c.20 minute walk to Tesco Superstore. Local bus service to Bourton, Moreton etc.hourly. Some lovely walks from the door. Lilac Cottage has a comfortable lounge / dining room, with door to patio and garden with views. Bedrooms are roomy, beds comfy and sufficient storage. Bathroom fine but low water pressure made for poor flow to the shower. Shower is over the bath. Kitchen is well equipped, but a little small especially if two people wanted to work at the same time. Parking in front of cottage; note steps down to front door.

Nice functional cottage.

The cottage was perfect for our needs. It was as described in the website. The only minor irritation was that we had requested a mid-stay clean as offered. However this did not happen and no contact was made by StayCotswold to explain this. Hence the lower score for customer service.

Excellent stay with family

Lilac cottage is so lovely. The beds are perfect and the living room is very cosy. Kitchen has all it has to have - luxury items even. Location is almost perfect : there's a tesco superstore nearby and there are some very good nearby pubs you can walk to. You can hear the traffic from the quite busy road at the end of the garden, which maybe can bother some people, but it's very silent at night and in the day you get used to it so don't let it be a shopstopper for this nice house. Stow is great and has the best market place of all villages we visited. Nice garden with lots of flowers (mostly from the neighbours). If we ever came back to Cotswolds we would certainly consider to come back. The mid stay clean was very pleasant.
