We visited Chester with our two kids and their grandparents. The house was an ideal size for 4 adults and the two kids.A great location for a decent enough walk into the city centre to tire everyone out on the return leg.The house was well enough presented but could do with a good deep clean and a new loo seat that fits.Given the listing is for max 6, we expected to find enough place settings to satisfy that many but there was a mish-mash of glasses, mugs, plates etc. The cupboards were also full of leftovers that previous guests had left. All in all in was a nice enough place for the three nights we stayed but as I've said...needs a little love.
Before arriving the house caretakers emailed explaining that the shower roller was broken, and the landing lights were not working. An issue as the top of the stairs are tricky with a stair gate and cut away step outside the bathroom. We were supplied with battery operated lights to remedy this.
We arrived to find a bottle of Prosecco, milk, tea and crisps which was really nice. The decor was contemporary, beds comfortable, and generally a pleasant environment.
Only complaints are that there were a few cobwebs around, the area behind the bathroom sink wasnât very clean, and also the windows and sills.
Be warned that itâs noisy in all rooms from the road. We used earplugs at night and got used to it in the daytime.
Tom and Rachael are responsive and considerate hosts.
Great location , off street parking a plus. Clean bedding and towels . Enjoyed the Nespresso coffee machine ! Some decoration , furniture showing signs of wear and tear. . Pizza cutter and a bin in the bathroom would be good. Great for a short stay and communication from host fab .
