These are my observations based on that experience.Location: Great! It is quiet, clean and central to a lot of good things: Wrigley Field, Boystown, parks along the lake, and lots of good eats. The apartment: This place is old so the floor creeks with every step. The inside was clean when we arrived, including the linens and towels. The bathroom was clean but desperate need of a face lift. However, the windows looked like they havenât been cleaned in years. We were even joking that we couldnât tell if it was sunny or overcast. The apartment has a small terrace that overlooks the street. We didnât use it because everything out there was absolutely dirty.Whatâs not mentioned is that this is a 3rd floor walk-up, no elevator. So lugging our bags up three flights and down again when we left was not much fun, not to mention all the times we returned back from a long day out in the city. The listing also shows a washer/dryer amongst the amenities. This is very misleading and one reason this apartment lost stars. There is no washer/dryer in the apartment at all. The machines (coin operated, 2/load) are located in the creepy basement of the adjoining building with the access through the back. So that is four levels down via the outside steps facing the alley. Communication: I tried getting the actual address (the one in the listing is not) so I could arrange airport transport but I was put off continuously and didnât get address and check-in until the morning of.
