Great Hotel!

My favorite hotel in Chicago. Great location. Fair pricing. I love the restaurant. In fact, it was the only restaurant I went to. The food is excellent.

I don’t typically write negative reviews but my recent experience warrants it. I had reserved my stay on Hotels.com. The nightly rate varied $300-350/night except the last night was over $710 for the same room (I booked a regular room with a balcony). I contacted the hotel front desk and inquired about the exorbitant rate which they acknowledged was quite high and asked me to inquire with Hotels.com to adjust which I subsequently did. The Hotels.com representative looked into the issue and told me the hotel front desk/manager would be the only ones who can adjust the exorbitant rate— the nightly rate was $410 for that night. I proceed to contact the front desk once more and request to speak with the manager who I was able to chat with later in the evening when she was available. She was understanding and “was sorry” but said she was not able (or willing) to adjust the rate while acknowledging it was extremely high— kudos to poor customer-centeredness and satisfaction I am quite disappointed and would not stay at this hotel on my future trips to Chicago. They recognized there was an exorbitant nightly rate and chose not to correct the wrong.
