2 hours after booking the same day, paying extra fees not expected for pet and parking, and a deposit also not mentioned in the booking.. our car broke down and we couldn’t get to the house to stay. They never responded to my email even to say sorry we can’t refund due ti our policy, but we will refund your deposit and extra fees.. let alone the fact that they would have not had a booking that night if I had waited 2 hours. Hotels.com reached out on their own to explain the extenuating circumstances and request even a partial refund , and they told me the Jungle Thyme adamantly refused.
I have family who own similar short term rentals who always work with guests in these situations.. even offering a stay in the future or simply a response would have shown some integrity.
