I would recommend. It was a nice place with friendly staff and clean rooms. The bathrooms are a bit cramped, but that just comes with historical buildings.

A really cute family run place with a lot of nostalgia. Comfortable, basic and I loved the feel of the place. Quiet neighborhood. Would recommend.

Good location, no thrill hotel

Not your traditional hotel, no full time person at desk, no breakfast or anything such as that. Did see some coffee and hot chocolate packs, but that was all, but plenty of places to eat within walking distance. Hotel was clean, rooms on the small size. We got a King size room and was not a traditional size room. Overall it was great for us as we had an event nearby. 7-11 Across the street if you need to buy snack or drinks.

Strongly recommend El Primero!

Karen was wonderful. She greeted us and gave us a bigger room for free! I love the art deco design and the San Diego theme. Each room has a different historic designation. The outdoor patio and gazebo are wonderful places to relax. The hotel is within walking distance of restaurants, bars and a park. Bravo!

Such a delightful place to stay. I loved the secured patio! The neighbourhood is full of great places to eat. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. The bed was super comfortable and I really appreciated the cotton sheets! Will definitely be back!
