The location was ideal! It was comfortable for our group of 8. We had a great visit and this house had everything we needed! Our only challenges were the tree in the front yard showering our cars with sap (we stopped parking under it, but it still ended up on our shoes just walking to the front door) and the main floor bathroom is not obese traveler friendly; the toilet is in a very constricted location.
Clean, good communication and check in, check out. Washer hookups were backwards so we shrunk a new shirt accidentally. Not as close to downtown as it appeared. Overall decent property.
The deer running around was awesome. The interior was nicely decorated. All beds uncomfortable, pillows were awful, one bed so unstable we were afraid to use it. The outside of house needs lots of TLC, but i believe it is still a place in progress. HOPEFULLY
6 people, composed of 4 traditional rug hookers attending a Cody event, and two husbands. Perfect spot! Husbands had tv and we had a well equipped kitchen and space to knit and chat. And the yarn store was only 2 blocks away. Plenty of parking space off street. Quiet neighborhood. Clean facility and air conditioning if needed. Deer and rabbits in yard. We have already reserved for 2024.
I did not view the Cody Lodging emails because I thought they were spam. I am used to VRBO rentals to use the VRBO inbox, so I was confused at the lack of emails about check in. Cody Lodging responds during normal business hours which is also different than past stays in VRBO lodging. I appreciate the house being dog friendly, and there is nothing in Cody that is more than 5 minutes away.
We had a good stay. The location allowed easy walk to downtown. The property was well stocked and nicely kept. Our only issue was with the downstairs shower/tub. It was very slippery, had no anti slip mats and no hand rails. For older renters this is a real problem. Had one guest slip and fall. Really recommend adding either anti slip strips or having an anti slip rubber mat inside the tub and installing hand rail support for getting in and out.
When we first arrived I was disappointed on the outside of the house but the owner was there, he was very nice and explained he had been traveling for work, so he was trying to catch up on the maintenance of the house. The inside looked cozy. When our grown children arrived the next day my daughter in law's eyes started watering and she had a hard time breathing. Later when looking for my 2yr grandson's Binky I pulled out a couch cushion and was appalled at all the cat hair. I can understand there being some hair but this was a lot. This explained why my daughter in law had such a problem breathing and her eyes swelled, she's very allergic to cat's. I think who ever does the cleaning needs to be advised. We found cat hair every where.
We used this property as home base to explore Cody, Yellowstone and the surrounding areas. We had everything we needed to enjoy our time here. Beds were comfy, house was clean and just as described.
Nice neighborhood, loved seeing the mule deer every afternoon. Convenient to Yellowstone Park, The Tetons, Little Big Horn Battlefield. Easy access to downtown Cody. The beds had metal frames with springs that squeak every time that you move. Only one tv in living room, kitchen was spacious and well equipped.
We enjoyed our 2 week stay at the Moose Retreat in Cody. The house is nicely renovated and has everything you need to relax and enjoy the area. We spent many days at the local museums, traveling to Yellowstone, and exploring the area.
