About this property

Little log cabin with long range mountain views

Experience the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains from this peaceful getaway just outside of Blowing Rock, featuring breathtaking long-range mountain views you won’t forget. Whether you’re watching the sunrise over the ridges or enjoying a quiet evening as the mountains fade into the sunset, the scenery alone makes this stay unforgettable.

Small but spacious, this 730 sq ft cabin sits at around ~3500 ft elevation, features many windows throughout offering beautiful year-round long-range views. I hope you find Little Log Cabin as cozy as we do!

Our cabin is centrally located in the Wilson Creek area between Blowing
Rock and Linville, only 20-25 minutes to each. Grandfather Mountain and the Blue Ridge Parkway are both a quick 10 to 15-minute drive, with tons of world-class hiking, fishing, camping, swimming, and skiing close by. Boone is a short 30 minute drive away offering good food and that small town feel.

Whether you're visiting for a relaxing getaway or an outdoor mountain adventure, we provide you the basic comforts of home to make travel a little bit easier: hand soap, dishwasher pods, kitchen towels, paper towels, basic oil/ salt & pepper, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Just bring your bags and unpack!

LIVING/DINING/KITCHEN
The main space offers an open concept kitchen, dining, and living room with a large sectional couch and plenty of space to relax. Fire up the smart TV to stream your favorite shows or sporting events, or lounge on the chaise with a book and a beverage. An additional sleeping (or movie watching) space is available on the full-sized pull-out couch.

Start your day watching the sunrise with coffee from the 12-cup drip coffee maker (filters provided), Keurig, or make a few cups in the French Press.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all the pots, pans, and utensils needed to cook up a large family meal for 4 including a blender, mixer, crock pot and a large, deep sink with sprayer faucet. Utilize the drop-leaf kitchen island for additional prep/service space. The refrigerator/ freezer has an automatic ice maker but no filtered water dispenser - the tap water (from a well) is perfectly fine to drink and is some of the best tasting filtered mountain water you can get.

*Note* there is no garbage disposal and the cabin is on a septic system, so please don't dump food or grease down the drain!

BEDROOM
Sleep off the day of exploring in the King bed with a comfortable, thick duvet (lighter quilt available in the summer months) and blackout curtains. Also includes a second (65 inch) smart TV for cuddling up in bed and watching movies. The spacious walk-in closet offers storage for all your luggage, jackets, and outdoor gear.

BATHROOM
The bathroom, which is detached from the bedroom, offers a large walk-in shower and bench seat (no tub) with all the basic amenities you'll need throughout your stay.

LAUNDRY
Connecting the bedroom and bathroom is a small hallway with full-sized washer and dryer and a few laundry pods to get you started.

WIFI/CELL SERVICE
Cell signal is generally strong inside the cabin thanks to the signal booster, but can be unreliable in the surrounding areas. The home is equipped with Starlink high-speed satellite internet offering speeds of up to 100+ mbps.
Remote work or streaming should be no issue, however please note: we are in the mountains after all, and you may experience rare but short intermittent outages from time to time.

OUTDOOR SPACE
Sit on the covered porch and enjoy a mountain thunderstorm, hang out in the bistro area, or venture to the fire pit for some smores. Note the fire pit is below the house accessed via a path which may be steep for some.

Other notes: This cabin is accessed by a paved state-maintained road that is plowed in Winter but is very steep.
***4WD or AWD is REQUIRED Dec-Mar for Winter.*** Chains are recommended during snow. Do not travel in icy conditions. Cell signal is generally strong inside the cabin, but can be unreliable in the surrounding areas.

*NOTE* NO PETS ALLOWED AND ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS.
