Calk was missing and/or peeling around the bathtub, and BLACK residue was seen. Water pressure was poor and the handle on the bathtub needed to be 'moved' back and forth to get proper water temperature and pressure. Hall (carpet and walls) was showing their age, especially the stairwell on the north side of building. Went to breakfast at 9:15am on Sunday morning and there was NOTHING to be found. Clerk at the front desk said service ended at 9:45am ?? Desk chair in the room was broken - fortunately it was not needed. Light bulbs were missing in many fixtures. Remote for TV did not work (need new batteries ?). Had to use the control in the back of TV. NOTE: I did not report this, since the TV was barely used / needed.

The property itself was not bad. But upon arrival the desk clerk, who was clearly deficient in English told me my reservation was for O'Fallon, MO, 45 miles away, rather than O'Fallon, IL. My wife and I drove to the Missouri location and were told it was for the Illinois location. The desk clerk in Missouri called Illinois and straightened it our. By now it's 10PM and we are exhausted. We get back to Illinois after an extra 2 hours of driving through St Louis and got our room, but no apology. The next day we received the same kind of sour treatment. The breakfast was poorly stocked and I had to go search for milk for my cereal. I never saw anyone clean up the mess others left behind. The window in the fitness room was shattered. The pool was empty. I would never stay here again.

Did not meet expectations.

The bathtub was pretty much the only part of this room that was nice. It did get hot and stay hot until it was full. Otherwise, the side door was kept propped open. The bed, couch, and chair was uncomfortable. The staff weren't very friendly. The breakfast was practically nothing and what little they did have was not good. The coffee was just brown water. At one point it was reported that one of the wafflemakers was filthy and the other didn't tell the time and nothing was done. Barely anything was out even as a simple continental thing. It smelled slightly of wet dog, but inside the actual room it was clean and smelled fresh.

Felt very unsafe here. Carpet was extremely dirty. Bugs on the floor. Back door was propped open letting anyone in. Random people out back smoking and drinking beer.

Here's what you need to know....I honestly appreciated the Super 8 staff doing so much with so little. The warm breakfast [waffles, eggs, biscuits and gravy (no meat). Other: cereal, milk, yogurt, apples, pastries, juice] helps so many without many convenient options outside the motel. It's quiet and the beds were firm which helped my back from a long journey. It really is no frills which suits my taste, because I don't like a lot of disturbances from housekeeping staff when traveling and there was none. Towels are changed every 3 days. I brought my own cleaning supplies which helped tremendously. The pool, gym and hall carpet were neglected & could benefit from at least a monthly deep cleaning. There are two levels with no elevator so my disabled companion could not walk up and down the stairs unassisted and stayed with realtives in MO. I made the most of my stay. The travel to and from Saint Louis was too long (37 mins) for me to consider returning. Also, the property backs a field, so you may see random [harmless] beatles floating on car, or may come into property, but nothing too concerning. There is no unpleasant odors such as mold, only odors brought in by pets and humans. Also, the air conditioning/heat did not turn on in my room, but the temperature stayed moderate. Overall, I'd give a 3.5/5 and I did enjoy my stay very much. The staff are very pleasant, humble, modest which contributes to the ambiance. 😉

The water in our shower never got warmer than lukewarm. There were a few ants in the bathroom floor. There was a person in the lobby when we checked in at 10pm listening to loud music and smoking cigarettes..inside the lobby when it is posted it’s a non smoking facility. The carpet in the hallway was full of crumbs on the way to our room. When we left at 650am, the front desk rep was in a chair with a blanket over her sleeping so we left our key on the counter in front of her.

There were dead plants in the lobby. Outside doors blocked open all night. There was no food left for breakfast by 8:30 on Sat, Sun and Mon mornings. My key to my door would not work and had to be reset by the front desk every time I tried to use it. There was mold around the tub in the bathroom. There was no light above the mirror in the little room next to the bathroom. The floor lamp did not work. Water leaking from the refrigerator running across the floor. I have pictures of all of this. Please do some general maintenance if you want to raise your star rating!
