This is the second time we have stayed at this cabin, and it was just as wonderful as the first time! It’s so peaceful and secluded, but only a short drive from everything you could need. The hosts left us a lovely bottle of wine and treats for our dogs. They have thought of everything you might need while you are there. The bed is very comfortable and there were plenty of blankets. This is the first time we have ever rebooked the same cabin, so that really says a lot about this location. I highly recommend!

Paws in the Pines is a very cozy and comforting space. It's clear that Jody and Dwight were very thoughtful in deciding how to set up the cabin; everything about the space feels intentional, from the layout to the decor to the helpful (and sometimes funny) labels. Some of the storage solutions appear to have been custom built for the space. All in all, it feels like a lot of love and care have gone into making Paws in the Pines feel joyful, welcoming, and functional. Jody also sent me a good amount of information prior to my arrival, including a cabin manual, which I found very helpful.The space is also well set up for anyone who wants to bring their pooch(es) with them. There is enough empty floor space to accommodate multiple dogs and their paraphernalia, and the outdoor spaces are all fitted with fences and gates, so pups and humans can enjoy being outside together.I also really appreciated that there were multiple options for heating the cabin. The radiator that is connected to the wall-mounted temperature control panel was fairly loud, and I am very sensitive to sound, so I ended up relying a bit more on the portable ceramic space heater and the two wall-mounted radiators in the bathroom and bedroom. There is also a wood-burning stove, although I didn't end up using it. I was plenty warm in the cabin, even though I visited in February.A very comfortable space for a retreat, along with many animal friends to keep you company; my favorites were Walker and Wilbur. :)

We had the most relaxing time in this cabin! The hosts truly thought of everything. The cabin was beautiful and so clean, the fireplace was so magical and warm, and the area was quiet and peaceful. The stars were so bright at night too! We would definitely stay here again!

We had a great stay in Paws in the Pines. This cabin has all the comforts of a home away from home. Jody and Dwight took care of every details to make this cabin comfortable for everyone even our dogs. I have stayed in a lot of cabins and the attention to details in this one is like no others . Everything in the kitchen looks brand new, from the appliances to the pots and pans . It has everything you need. We were there for 13 days and cooked almost every night It was easy to communicate, instant answers to any questions and Jody goes out of her way to make your stay comfortable. We were afraid of being cold in October but the cabin was really warm and cozy.The location is gorgeous, deep in the woods surounded by trees, mountains and wild life but yet not far to shopping and restaurants. The area is beautiful and just going to the grocery store takes your breath away. This cabin is really stunning and I love how it is set up for the comfort of the dogs as well. We are always a little worried to bring our dogs in the woods but the cabin is even set up with their security in mind. You can open the door and they are secure. There were treats , blankets and dog beds waiting for us when we got there . This was really perfect. We already decided to come back as soon as we can . I would love to see every season in the area.

Even though we ran into some rain the first couple of days, We did enjoy the Cabin it was really amazing . The only part we did not like was there were no curtains on any windows but in the bedroom. A couple different days while we’re driving back to the cabin we seen deer eating on the side of the road. Then a doe and her baby was on the side of the cabin the day we left. We had a wonderful time walking the casinos in Cripple Creek . Met a few good people in the area with some friendly Dogs that we had to give some rubbings to . As we were missing our animals we have at home Altogether we had a great time and will be back next year we hope.

Paws in the Pines is without a doubt the best home we have ever stayed in. Jody and Dwight are the most amazing hosts. Check in was super easy, the home is incredible and it was very easy to communicate with them when needed. The home itself is perfect, you will lack for nothing while staying there. So many thoughtful details, like strategically placed nightlights, nice cookware, plenty of towels available, etc. We spent mornings enjoying our coffee on the back patio, and evenings gazing at the stars and occasionally hearing the wolves howl. It’s location is perfect, we did lots of great hiking, visited the fossil beds and the wolf center, took day trips to Victor, Cripple Creek and FairPlay. Like another reviewer said I almost don’t want anyone else to know about this place lol. But Jody and Dwight are fantastic and deserve to be blessed with many bookings so here I am leaving my honest, 5-star review :).

Doggie (and dog-lover's) paradise

I've been staying at vacation rentals with my dog for many years now. This is, by far, the best experience I've had at any rental. The cabin is immaculately clean! Things are so well-labelled. Then the details and the absolute thoughtfulness of the hosts, Jody and Dwight. They are so generous with all freebies. They left welcome gifts for my dog and me. There are snacks and beverage mixes free for sampling. Freshly made ice (even king ice balls for fancy cocktails!) were stocked in the freezer. All sorts of travel toiletries if you forget anything. For your best friend: bog beds, bowls, blankets, toys, poop bags, and fenced-in relief area, porch, and back deck. Jody was a pleasure to work with: so friendly and kind. Of the dozens of homes I've stayed at, if Paws in the Pines isn't a 5-star experience, then none of my stays have been 5-stars. I hesitate to release this review only because I know that others will learn of this treasure in the woods!

Big Birthday Treat

Our stay was nothing other than perfect. Jody and Dwight have thought of everything for their guests. We arrived after a long traffic detour on the road, to such a thoughtful birthday message and other treats. It was a perfect way to forget the traffic and start our long weekend of rest and indulgence. If you have a pup, they will be spoiled too. I have to say, Jody should be training other VRBO hosts. I have never seen such a responsive host and such tension to detail. We will be coming back.

Harmonious Honeymoon

My wife and I's stay at Paw in the Pines was wonderful! Our honeymoon in this cabin went so well, even if both of us weren't feeling the best! We had everything we needed, whether we were sick, desired to stay in, or travel the state. Jody communicated clearly with us, and even decorated for us newlyweds. 5 stars, and excited to come back in the future!
