My family and I stayed here for our first time in Rockport for a 4th of July weekend beach vacation with our friends who stayed nearby. The location is amazing for being close to the beach and all things Rockport. The house was so cute and cozy, perfect for a family. This is the perfect beachy vibed house nestled on a quiet street. My only complaint is the internet was not working. We were unable to use the TVs and our WiFi devices which is not normally a huge deal, but I also work from my devices remotely so it was frustrating. I sent a message to the host the first day and never got a response. I will also consider it was a holiday weekend so maybe that contributed to the lack of communication. Besides that, this rental is absolutely perfect and I would definitely book again!
Initial impressions was disappointment in the neighborhood. Three foot deep weeds on adjacent lot. Multiple abandoned properties in disrepair. Cottage was in good repair, appeared to have been recently painted. On arrival the air conditioner was not working. Initially difficult to obtain help. Kept getting an answering machine. However once I spoke with the owner?, help was dispatched and arrived within 30 minutes. Apparently this is a chronic problem as he knew exactly how to correct the problem and we had cool air immediately. One major concern: the secondary exit was locked with the door knob removed, so only exit was the front door. With the bedrooms in the back, exit in case of fire was limited.
We had to spray each other before going to bed. The TV in the living didnt work but was fixed the next day. The beach was not nice. Jellyfish ruined it for the kids. The water was so shallow.
