The house was really nice and clean. It's a great location near the beach – not too bad of a walk, but perfect if you rent a golf cart. We loved the pool. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. We loved that it was pet-friendly. All the beds were comfy. Excellent master suite upstairs. I would have given this property five stars, but there were a few issues. There is no way to bring an ice chest or items to the back yard pool area without walking up the tall stairs into the house and back down the stairs to the back yard. There is a gate to the back yard, but it was locked. This was very inconvenient. In addition, the TV in the back yard did not work. Nor did the dishwasher in the kitchen. I informed the property manager about these issues. They generously offered to send over a tech to fix the dishwasher, but we declined and managed to wash our dishes by hand. If the TV and dishwasher worked, and if there was a way to get into the back yard without going through the house, I would have rated it 5/5. Although we had a few issues, the property manager – New Wave Vacation Rentals – was great to work with. The responded immediately to our concerns. I would not hesitate renting from them again.

Family Spring Break Trip

The home itself was thoughtfully decorated and put together, clean, and freshly painted inside and out. You can tell that the owners have put a lot of care into the home. A/C unit worked perfectly and the kitchen/living area made for a great gathering place. Proximity to the boardwalk and beach was a huge plus. Outside seating had a ton of great options and the poolside fridge and bar area was a nice touch. Only real knock was the trash and recycling was completely full when we arrived, the pool was supposed to be heated but when we arrived were told it was broken and in need of a part, and lastly all of the different grills were in desperate need of being replaced. Thankfully the oven inside was high quality and we were able to cook everything we planned to grill, inside.

Exceptional Pool House

Upon arrival the house was very clean. Everything described is as is. Really appreciated the great TVs, books, toys, pool toys, and beach. The pool was definitely the highlight. It was bigger than expected and everyone enjoyed all the time spent. Area outside was outstanding with TV, bar and fridge. All pits were clean and available for use. The firepit area is a little small but cozy. The only down we experienced is that we were not aware we could not access the backyard/pool from the ground level outside of fence so we had to carry all heavy ice chest and other items up stairs through front door and then through the house and down the stairs to pool area. We enjoyed every day at this house and would love to rent again!

Family Vacation

Two thumbs up! Fantastic place to stay with family and pets. Only cleanliness issues where from the previous persons stay. I.e. the trash wasn't removed from the property and some dog poop remained in the yard.

Wonderful stay on Mustang Island

The house was located perfect and it was very nice, clean and had everything we needed. The fenced in back yard and pool area was perfect. We plan to book this place again as it was very enjoyable.

Being honest...

Cute place with plenty of extras for our stay. The pool area had games and toys for everyone. Outside area was really nice with plenty of BBQ options and a fire pit. The lights on the outdoor area was a nice addition for late night shenanigans. The house was nicely decorated, with plenty of standard amenities. Kitchen was decent for cooking and serving. We did have some issues throughout the stay and messaging through VRBO never got us any answers. The insinkerator didnt work which left us with a nasty kitchen sink. We worked it out. The house was not clean...dog hair on the comforters, terribly dusty fans throughout and the house was smelly. When we first came in there was a big gob of hair on the kitchen counter and jelly all over the toaster. The outdoor shower was broken and the stovetop was cracked so we were nervous to use it. There was broken glass in the bar area. The 1st full day, lawn care team came in the fence and mowed while we were relaxing at the pool. Spraying poison/weed killer while kids were playing in the yard area...that was really aggravating. I tried reaching out several times but never got an answer. Really wanted to love this place...

Staycation

We had a 4 day staycation at SS Minnow and the property was great! We really enjoyed the outdoor spaces and the location! Just far enough from the crowds in Port A, but close enough to get to the restaurants in just a few minutes. My family from out of town rented the property right next to us and it couldn’t have worked out more better. We all enjoyed our stay and had the best time !

This house has everything! Swimming pool, games, grills, bar, tv’s. My new home away from home! We walked our dogs to the beach which was amazing! I couldn’t have asked for anything more than I got out of this rental from New Wave!

Great place!

We have stayed here before and enjoyed it! This stay the cleanliness was an issue upon arrival. Large crumbs on bedside table and garbage under the bed, hairs in the shower, broken glass on the patio left us feeling a bit uneasy. (My daughter actually twice cut her foot on the glass!) I also didn’t like the laminated pages warning of extra charges for things like stains on dish rags, etc. We work hard to treat the home as we would our own and to leave it as we found it or better. The notion that we might be charged an extra $5 for wiping up coffee with a dish rag when we have already paid what I consider a very high cleaning fee is crazy! It seems like there’s a new management company which given the state of the home on arrival needs to double check the cleaning prior to new renters arrival!

Disappointed

Property and location was awesome! We paid extra to have the pool heated and submitted our request two days in advance as requested! The heater was turned on the day we arrived and upon arrival at 4pm the temperature was a uncomfortable 68 degrees. Reached out to property management and was told give it some time! The pool never reached above 70 degrees until Sunday at 9am, the day before departure! So my grand children didn't get to utilize the pool until mid morning Sunday. They left Sunday around 2pm so the pool which was a deciding factor when we booked this property wasn't of much use. Probably wouldn't stay there again for that sole reason.
