Excellent location near the beach and Port Aransas restaurants and shops. Beautiful property, super comfortable accommodations. The host was incredibly responsive and helpful. The backyard has everything you could want to relax, outdoor cooking. Being pet friendly was icing on the cake for my two small pups. Finally super quiet and clean. One of my favorite stays in Port A so highly recommended.

TLDR: Outstanding! --but for the rest of you looking for my experience on this jewel, read on. The owner, Mark, was quick to respond to my questions before we booked the property. He was also there to greet us when we arrived to check in and give us a quick overview of the property. The property is just like you see in his photos. No surprises except maybe that it feels just like you'd expect once you set foot in the back yard. The overall property is on a very nice (perhaps one of the nicest) street in Old Town Port Aransas. Everything was extremely well maintained. The other thing we really liked was that the front door to the cottage faces the pergola and back yard area versus the other house, giving it a really private feel. We had friends staying for the weekend nearby, so we got to see a couple of other properties that we'd looked at when researching our trip and to be honest, I was both relieved and thrilled we'd picked Mark's property versus the others! We now have friends who will be fighting us for dibs next year during the annual trip. Everything about our stay here uses those same superlatives: amazing, wonderful, awesome--and with good reason. Mark has created a fantastic spot for visitors like us. I was initially going to write that I would not hesitate for a second to stay again. However, I can't imagine staying anywhere else. Thanks so much for a delightful first visit to Port A!

Markā€™s Lantana Cottage was exactly what I wanted. Close to the beach. Close to shopping & restaurants. Quiet, quaint, & very clean!Arriving at Lantana Guest House was so pretty! The home is really pretty & the guest house was a hidden gem. The backyard was perfect for my little dog, who came along with me. Walking into the cottage was very welcoming. Very clean, everything you need, and then some! Lots of extra bath towels, very comfortable bed, stove, and microwave and a full-size refrigerator. Mark had a beautiful patio to sit outside and relax in the evening.Walking distance to some of Port Aransasā€™s popular restaurants. Beach was located very close, just down the street. Take an evening stroll or get up early in the morning and take in the gorgeous sunrise.I would highly recommend Markā€˜s Lantana house if you are looking for something a little bit off the beaten path, quiet with easy access to everything in Port Aransas. You are literally five minutes from anything.Look forward to visiting again!

This was our third time staying at the Lantana Guest House, we keep coming back to Port Aransas because we are obsessed with this guest house! One of our all time favorite short-term rentals we've experienced. We get to bring our dog, there's a hot tub, beautifully maintained gardens, a pergola. So close to the beach. Love just sitting in the back yard, feeling the breeze and the sounds of the palm fronds. Mark is so chill, everything feels like a breeze. 10/10 would recommend!

Visitor BEWARE!! We had such high hopes based on reviews. Either the place has gone downhill or past visitors are completely unobservant. The shower doesnā€™t drain, thereā€™s mold in the sink, mold in the refrigerator door seals, the cabinets are filthy and, most concerning, thereā€™s black mold on the HVAC vents. The hot tub also had excessive, concerning white foam after using the jets and cameras directly pointed at it that were not disclosed prior to booking, as required by VRBOs privacy requirements. The musty smell should have been our first sign something was amiss but we figured it was the ā€œbeachā€ smell. We were out at the beach all day and night so, unfortunately, we didnā€™t notice said issues until the next morning. Otherwise, we would have left immediately. We didnā€™t feel comfortable addressing the host in person at check out because the condition is so poor, we didnā€™t feel like they would be receptive. Instead, we contacted customer service same day. We requested a refund due to the unhealthy condition of the property but they are still waiting on a response from the host. Itā€™s been almost three weeks now with no response from the host. We had congestion that cleared within hours after leaving the property. We had to thoroughly clean and wash all our belongings to prevent bringing mycotoxins home to our kids. The condition of the property is a true health hazard, especially for those with lung or immune issue. We are still expecting a response from the host via CS.
