Great place for a nice relaxing vacation, with the opportunity to add more excitement if that's what you're looking for with free transportation to parties at a nearby Riu property as well as excursions and other paid add-ons. The property was exceptionally clean and well-maintained, and the staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was decent at it's worst and quite good at it's best, overall I was satisfied in that department for the price paid. Drinks were quite good as well (bartenders were excellent and very engaging) and we enjoyed the convenience of having drink dispensers in the room for a nightcap for when we felt like avoiding the crowds at the bars downstairs. Beach is a bit of a walk, but it was beautiful and very peaceful. Water slides were a lot of fun as well, and a great way to break up the day of relaxing by the beach/pools. We visited during the down season, so I could see it feeling a bit claustrophobic during peak times, especially with the pool layouts, but it was perfect for what we were looking for this time. Would visit again at this time of year for sure!

Property and rooms were very clean. Air conditioning worked great! all the staff were super friendly and we loved that the restaurants were close together. Food and drinks were overall very good. The hotel also tried its best to eliminate the mosquito problem by fogging the outdoor areas. Really amazing property and we will definitely visit again!

For my first all inclusive experience, I was impressed! The property itself is very well maintained. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure you are taken care of. It offers a wide variety of settings for the true partiers and people looking for a more relaxed vacation. Highly recommend !

BRING BUG SPRAY. It may be the season, but there were tons of musquitoes everywhere in the morning and at night. Not the resort's fault, but the on site "convenience"store charged $27 for a small can. The ocean was visible from the room, so there was no need to upgrade the room for ocean view. Staff was nice, curteous, very friendly... the camerista did a great job each day. Food at cafeteria and all the restaurants was great, fresh and had a great taste, and Nelly was the best server.. The animation team was engaging, regardless of age, had great activities all day (hi to Funny-funny, Dana, Lupita, Yale and Santi). Great shows each night, as well as the pre and post-shows. Bars were never crowded, they even had push-cart mini bars traveling around the pools. I really liked the separation of "drinking-pools" from the activity, the quiet and the volleyball pools. The beach was also awesome, plebty of room, chairs and service. Beach barely had any algees, and it was cleaned each day. The adult slides was a great touch and there were no lines. The Riu resort has 3 parties, at Dunbar resort, (Jungle, White and Pink) to which they provided transportation. To get to the resort from the airport wasn't too bad (aprox 45 min) but the roads are very bad especially after exiting Cancun. We also went on a jungle ATV trip and when we returned we had a hard rain while aproacing Cancun. It took almost 1hr to cross the city because all major roads were flooded (literally) with stranded cars.

The hotel is located in a more isolated part of the area, which has pros and cons. It’s farther from the Hotel Zone, but cabs are easy to get, and the seclusion makes the beach feel untouched. The sand is soft and clean, the water is clear, and the waves are calm. I loved that part. They provide chairs on the beach, but there was only one server covering the area, so service could be a little slow. More staff on the beach would definitely help. The pools were large and well-kept, though I personally didn’t enjoy the swim-up bar pools. They were packed with people, and after a few hours you could actually see a film of oil on the surface, which made it feel less appealing. My biggest disappointment was the food. I had read good things about the restaurants, but they ended up being mediocre across the board. The morning buffet was the highlight, but everything else fell short of expectations. Another issue was the mosquitoes. From the moment you arrive until you get into your room, you’re likely to get bitten. Definitely bring bug spray with you. The property store sells it, which was a lifesaver, but it’s better to come prepared. Lastly, there’s no room service, which I found surprising. After a long day of excursions, sometimes you just want to relax and have food brought to your room, but that wasn’t an option here. Overall, the beach and the morning buffet were the best parts of my stay, but the food, pool experience, and lack of room service were letdowns.
