The property is older, and the bedroom is very small, but is very clean and I have no complaints. The location is perfect - on the edge of Stanley Park, 2 blocks from the main road with many restaurants, coffee shops, and grocery options. The closest hop on/off bus stop is about 1/2 mile away, and English Bay beach is a 3-block walk.

The building is not a hotel with a reception area open after 3 or 4pm. I arrived about 830pm and had to read signs about onto call for after hours emergencies. Checking in hardly seems like an emergency but then it took 5 tries with 5 different people over 20 minutes to get checked in over the intercom. Finally another first let me in and found an envelope with room access cards in a lockbox with my name. While the light went green at the door it did not open. It was jammed. Finally I hipcheckrdnthe door with force and got in. I should have known the property would be run down: there is a rezoning sign in front. The location is excellent and the place clean but so worn. In the morning I went out to get coffee and got locked out again: apparently my cell phone demagnetized it and so I was locked out again. Hopeless!

The front desk gentleman did his best to fix things but this place is run down and EXPENSIVE for what you get. The location is fine and safe but room 107 you have to slam your body into the door to open it. The weekend instructions sent were not right and then I was blamed for coming after 3:30 on a weekend when the email said late check in was 5 pm. We were moved next day to 106 which was better. Would not stay here again. Again the front desk gentleman was the only redeemable part of the “hotel”.

I was verbally assaulted by the desk clerk at check-in for causing him to stay less than an hour past the 5 p.m. regular hours. This after a 5 a.m. no show by an airport shuttle and the subsequent re-scheduling of ground and air transport. A problem he was aware of. The hotel itself is getting a little long in the tooth. Some patches in the carpet and old electronics, but the cleaning staff does an excellent of cleaning and accommodating clients needs.

Close to beach and Stanley Park. The suite was very clean and very comfortable beds. My only concern was there was no elevator from the parkade and no parking out front to carry your luggage in.

Convenient Location Unsettling Service Experience

6 night stay. Location ideal. Easy Acess to Stanely Park, Seawall & downtown. Parking available for additinal fee, convenient when renting a vehicle. Accommodation decent but bed and pull out sofa mattress uncomfortable. Positive aspect Accommodated early check in. However inconsistent service. One friendly welcomimg manager while other was distant and unapproachable. Serious issue arose when male staff member entered our room without prior notification or permission with disregsrd to "do not disturb" sign while lone female guest was inside. Although incident addressed and apology given staff member dismissive response made us feel unsafe & uncomfortably. Location and suite were adequate, the disregard to privacy and dismissive attitude toward a serious concern were significant drawbacks.
