Always loved this property. But offering less and less all the time. No internet in rooms anymore, my class of Expedia I’m suppose to get upgrade, never have, many rooms no dressers, no facecloths, no conditioner, cutting out simple food items like oatmeal. They seem to want to drive away loyal customers that have stayed for years. Couldn’t have lunch on my last day!!!Didnt get lunch on my first day.. Time to reconsider. Management starts at the top, staff just takes the orders. Most are fabulous.

The room was fine. The staff was excellent really good customer service. This is my first time traveling I was a little disappointed because I was expecting something better for my first trip. I didn't like the location, the food, or the drinks. The resort needs an upgrade. I was looking for something with more excitement and a beach.

While some housekeeping staff were helpful when approached, several issues with cleanliness, service, and overall guest experience fell short. The room was not properly cleaned upon arrival, and we had to request a change of dirty sheets, which housekeeping handled promptly but did not improve the initial impression. The front desk attendant that night was unfriendly and offered little information about the resort’s amenities. Food quality was decent but lacked variety, and I found eggshells in my breakfast eggs. Service across the resort was inconsistent. The snorkeling guide was rude and impatient, and while a few servers were friendly, many seemed disengaged. On our first night, no one explained how the buffet or drink ordering system worked. I waited at the bar for several minutes with no acknowledgment, only to be told—after initiating the conversation myself—that drinks had to be ordered through a server. I also observed concerning disparities in how guests were treated based on race and language. White, English-speaking guests appeared to receive more attentive service, while Spanish-speaking and Mexican guests were treated with noticeably less urgency and respect. Staff attitude toward us shifted only after they found out my mom and I were American that they changed their attitude. This created an environment that felt discriminatory. it appeared that some servers pocketed dollar tips rather than contributing to the shared jar.

For just over $80 per night, the Cozumel Hotel and Resort is a budget-friendly all-inclusive, but with clear trade-offs. It’s about $15 from the airport, though drivers still refer to it as the Wyndham, hinting at past ownership. The area isn’t great, and the property looks very dated with cracks in the driveway and buildings. Check-in was slow and confusing: a $120 deposit, a $5 ECO fee, and even a photocopy of my passport. Though rooms are supposed to be ready by 3 PM after a 12 PM checkout, mine wasn’t and I waited another 30 minutes but the front desk was trying their best. The lobby felt odd, with random shops mixed in like a small bazaar. The staff, however, were extremely friendly—using a little Spanish is appreciated. I got my bracelet right away, which helped me access food and amenities immediately after landing. The food and drinks were decent for the price, though dining across a main highway was inconvenient. The room was okay but dated. Housekeeping tried their best, but the décor and furniture weren’t impressive. Oddly, there was a hammock inside. Pillows were excellent, but amenities were lacking: no face or more than one hand towel, one very worn bath towel, and unlabeled soap and shampoo that looked refilled. The worst part was the nonexistent Wi-Fi despite being advertised, and mosquitos everywhere—I killed at least ten before bed. Overall, it’s a no-frills option about 3+ miles from the airport. Not bad for the price, but manage expectations.

This was my fourth time staying at Hotel Cozumel. This stay was a little disappointing. Staff was not as friendly and welcoming as before. Food was pretty terrible. Room could have been cleaner. Sad to see this has gone downhill so much. Will consider staying elsewhere on our next trip.

Cozumel Hotel and Resort brands itself as a 4-star tourist resort. That is highly misleading considering worn amenities and rooms, very small TVs, missing upkeep and lack of in-room WiFi is clearly below par. 3 star is generous. Note: we are in Cozumel once a year, sometimes twice a year which gives us a reasonable frame of reference. On the positive side, rooms are kept very clean, we liked the food and the staff is very nice, with the noteworthy exception of the front desk manager who was surprisingly rude. All in all, it is a legitimate dive resort no ifs and buts, it is not a 4-star resort, and the front desk manager would benefit from adhering to basic forms of respectful interactions.

First let me preface by saying my husband a I have been staying here for 15 years. We have seen the ups and downs of this hotel over the years. I will focus on the changes and issues I saw this stay. Rooms have been updated and now include a fridge which is nice. The hammock in the room just serves as another place for us to hang our wet dive gear up to dry. Now for the issues…the food has taken a turn for the worse. There is not much variety, it was warm at best, and they did not have the dinners outside with the menus that we liked. The hot tub which we look forward to was cold and the temp was never turned up. The staff as always was wonderful and is probably the main reason we always come back. We love Cornelio and Sylvia at breakfast. Luisa and Joel were wonderful at lunch. Valentin and Alberto run a tight ship at dinner. The bartenders Mario, Gustavo, Rellez are wonderful and always greet us with a smile. Daniel the day security out front is also very helpful with any questions about taxi service, shopping, etc. We will more than likely be back in the spring and hopefully things will again improve.

No wifi in the rooms. No dresser to put our clothes in we had to live out of our suitcase for 12 days. We had to ask for washcloths. We had over 2 hours from checkout to our pickup. They cut our bracelets off and we could not use the amenities for that time. Disappointed
