Please do not stay here if you are a eoman traveling on their own. I was told upon check in that no staff member is present on site overnight from 10.30pm onwards. I was then told there was just one person staying in the property which was a man. I did not feel comfortable with this so I decided to check out and stay elsewhere.
Delightful Tudor pub with 7 bedrooms in a quiet village. Tis was a perfect stopover and we particularly enjoyed the breakfast in the main pub area in the morning. Will definitely come back and recommend.
Room only. Itâs a pub with rooms. But hereâs the kickerâŠ. The rooms are large, clean and well appointed. The pub is friendly and bustling and the food is truly excellent. 20/30 mins outside Exeter. Staff were so welcoming and very helpful. Will be coming back. (Probably with the dogs as they l love dogs here and have their very own doggie food menu (treats! V cute!). Lots of room info for lovely walks for dogs (and their hoomans!)
Keith (I think was his name) the manager was immensely welcoming and helpful, as were all the other staff. Fantastic and spotless room and loved the rainfall shower. Overall fantastic!
Myself and my partner stayed for 2 nights, on the first night with were arriving at 8.10pm just after the kitchen normally closes. We rang up and nothing was too much trouble, we preordered over the phone and they held off on preparing our meal until we arrived. Food was amazing and we had a lovely few drinks in the pub which has such a warm atmosphere. Our room was lovely, we particularly enjoyed the log burner, and was a great size. A great stay, we would definitely come again!
The Reception and the service we had was excellent The Food menu had great quality and choices including Gluten free Menu available.
The Bar served Gluten free on draft beers. The whole experience we found was a friendly and welcoming atmosphere

This is an old coaching inn and retains a lot of the features but also has modern ones. The room was spacious, shower excellent, even though it was above the bar, quiet. The food and the selection of cider and gin was out of this world and the staff knowledgeable.
Anyone visiting during the week should try the coffee morning on Wednesday, at the church at 10, we found it by accident, but were welcomed and treated to lots of knowledge about the area! free but donations are greatly appreciated, and the coffee was good!
