We really enjoyed our stay. Great location, easy access to the mountain trails and close to town. It was very clean and the pool was very relaxing after a long day on trail. We didnât have a parking pass in our room when we got there but the host was quick to respond and help us get what we need. We hope to come back again soon.
Good budget option. Itâs a lot of room for the money, with high ceilings and a sitting room besides the large bedroom.
Keep in mind that itâs on the first floor, right beside the exit. Ski boots and slamming doors begin around 8am. You can hear loud rock and roll from the lobby until late, like 11 oâclock.
This room, as well as the rooms surrounding it are short term rentals, which allow dogs. Every room had dogs and there was a bit of barking.
The management company is difficult to contact and not very helpful. That being said, I did finally manage to get an early check in, as the usual check in isnât until 4 oâclock. A late check out is possible for an extra fee, which turned out to be quite reasonable, around $20. It needs to be booked immediately or else you lose the opportunity.
Good location. It was not noisy for us. Convenient to parking. It was nice to have a separate sitting room as I get up early and don't want to wake my husband. Bed was comfortable. Lighting could be improved. Overall a nice affordable stay.
Our stay wasn't perfect, but it's still good enough for a 5 star rating.
Pros:
- The location. It's a 2 minute walk to the main base. They also have a free ski valet (tips encouraged).
-The heated indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub were marvelous. You can get into the heated pool inside and swim out to the jacuzzi. You can leave all your stuff inside and avoid the dreaded cold/wet exit from the hot tub.
-The place was very clean.
-The pull out soft bed is surprisingly comfy.
Cons:
-Noise. The unit is on the first level right next to a heavily trafficked side entrance. The bedroom is right next to the entry door. It was kind of loud up until around 10 p.m. if you're a light sleeper, you won't love it.
-Some of the outlets don't work.
-The heating is inconsistent throughout the unit. The living room is around 5-10 degrees warmer than the sleeping area.
-The wifi isn't the best. You'll be able to stream a movie but can't overload the system with too many devices.
This is a large hotel room with a small kitchen dividing the bed from the living room. The bed was very comfy, the kitchen was adequate although not well appointed (no measuring cups, for example), and the couch had a view of a yard and garden that slope down to the street. During ski season I imagine this is a cozy, charming view. The room allowed dogs and was accessible from a side entrance to the hotel. For some reason the hot water went out at 4 in the afternoon but was back on by 8. During "shoulder season" not much is open up in Crested Butte Mountain, but there was a good coffee place near by and the town is near by. There is one nice out door seating area, but it is adjacent to the pool and I was self conscious about taking the dogs there. The pool can be entered and exited inside the building but you can swim under a barrier to go outside- very cool in the winter I bet.
