The pictures are very misleading. While the property might be 100acers there is no place to explore. You have access to maybe .15 acres of over grown yard/driveway. There are "residents" like within 100 yards or less from the yurt whom are not welcoming and don't give warm vibes. Two separate domains. Towels AND sheets were dirty - as in used refolded and bed remade to appear clean. Bath house was very clean, however there is no shower curtain or window coverings, the window faces a "home" that is the trailer off a semi truck converted into a house. Free entertainment I suppose? At night time there was so much activity, gun fire, car horns, 4-wheeler riding (no headlights on) odd sounds that shouldn't come from "a nature experience" The other yurt on property was about 40 yards away. Should the property have actually been secluded like portrayed in pictures no window covering in bath house or yurt would have been fine however knowing there was a duelling in view of showering or changing in the yurt it was uncomfortable and unsettling.Host was fantastic with communication and has responded quick since booking, but location wasn't at all what was expected. I left a night early for many reasons, safety being one.
We absolutely loved our yurt! It was clean and comfortable. The back deck is completely enclosed so our dogs were contained. Matt is friendly and easy going and our dogs had fun playing with his dogs!
The yurt was amazing! Iâve been wanting to stay in one ever since seeing yurts on a trip to Montana, and our stay did not disappoint. We had everything we needed, beautiful land to explore, and wonderfully close to WCU. I canât wait to come back again
What a peaceful, beautiful and tucked away piece of heaven! We spent 3 days in our pjs resting and recuperating from a long years worth of trials and tribulations. THIS is the best place to do just that! No frills, just basic needs and nature. On our last full day we ventured into Sylva for a little âretail therapyâ at Walmart and a few other quaint local shops before returning to Cullowehee to dine on the most delicious pizza at Rodgers Bros.(highly recommended them by the way). Packed and had another wonderful night sleep on our bed that was warmed from beneath the sheets with a warming pad and then atop of the sheets a thick warm duvet. We had some cold nightsâŠ28-38 degrees but that just made snuggling more important We will definitely be back, Matt the land owner and his son Cole are gracious hosts. The Stays (booking agents) were very helpful and answered our questions quickly. 10-10
The Yurt and property were beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay. We arrived late, and they were there to greet us and help us find our Yurt. Excellent communication and fast response times. Thank you for a great weekend!
Great location, on the side of a mountain with trails and rivers to explore all over. Rather bare bones spot of course, but that's why we were there. The path to get to the yurt is very steep and can be rather difficult for smaller cars to get up, although Matt and his son were so kind and so helpful getting us up and situated. Will definitely be back!!
