The house and host were excellent. Rabbits, deer, turkeys in the front yard while having coffee in the morning and the Black Hills in the horizons. Well within driving distance of everything we wanted to see.
Wonderful size for a large family. Basement was a little musty smelling, but there were humidifiers running. Kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans and appliances. It did need kitchen towels .
We enjoyed our stay at this Custer property. The home was as described, as well as clean, well-supplied and quiet. Definitely recommend it for a large group visit to the area.
Bring clip-on lights or flashlight if you read in bed
Bad news first: Lighting and furniture is minimal. I hear some property owners do that because of Sturgis Rally in August. Okay. Makes sense. But for the rest of us, there's inadequate lighting in the bedrooms. The pellet stove was out of service. You must have a subscription to a streaming service to use the TV.Good news: great location. Lots of space. Quiet. Plenty of cooking supplies in the kitc hen. It was a snowy weekend so we appreciated being able to park on a garage. Good communication. The pelletb
We had an amazing week cooking great food, gathering at a large table for meals, watching deer and turkeys play right outside the porch, and enjoying the beautiful Black Hills!
We really enjoyed our stay at Needles View. We spent a great amount of time enjoying our view and weather from the front porch. The kitchen was well stocked and it was conveniently located near groceries and restaurants. Our dog enjoyed watching wildlife from the front porch and the yard was huge and fun to play games and run. This location was within a half hour of most everything we wanted to go see and do.
Our stay was nice. We had a few issues with things not working like the a/c, ceiling fan, and some burners on the stove but the manager of the property was aware and working in getting things right. The basement bedrooms could use some rugs and the bathroom downstairs was not good but there were 2 nice ones upstairs. Decent place for the money.
We had a beautiful view. Enjoyed the wildlife. The location was great. The cabin had enough room for all of us. Overall the cabin was nice BUT I wish they would have told us the air in one bedroom was not working or a couple burners on the stove didnt work or the basement showerhead leaked. I even emailed the host and asked if there was anything we needed to know. Communication prevents frustrations.
This property was just what we were looking for. The view out the living room window was breath taking. This cabin was nestled on a couple of acres near town. There was plenty of wildlife to watch each morning and to have the view of the mountains was incredible. I spent a couple of mornings enjoying a cup of coffee on the front porch watching the sunrise. It was nice to have a cabin centrally located to neighboring attractions.
The Needles View house was the perfect location for our visit to the Black Hills. We traveled there to visit and hike in the national parks of the area and in Custer State Park. We had a wonderful stay, and the location of the house was not far from our points of interest and trails. We also appreciated the extras provided by the owner.
This was perfect for us, 12 people from 4 to 87, four generations. It worked very well, easy to get to all the iconic sites on our list. Coffee on the porch with deer and turkey in the yard was a bonus.
We were pleased with the size of the location, the view, and access to town. There are few appliances that need some TLC and there were no extra blankets. With a few repairs it would be an easy 5.
