We arrive to find the unit is 30 degrees inside. Winter storm warning & no one bothered to turn the heat on to even the most minimum level. It took over 3 hours to get the place to 54 degrees. Soap scum on the shower door, 6 months of dust on fixtures, broken shade slats. We were too tired to look any further, but we should have. Next morning as we look around, we see old coffee still in the coffee pot along with moldy coffee grounds. Floors were filthy. And the best for last & you know it’s coming…the bedding had not been changed. Body fluid stains on the mattress pad when we took the sheets off. Owner gave a paltry offer of $25 credit and to send his cleaning crew over later that day. This is the cleaning crew that did such a bang up job the 1st time. We had our 2 rescue dogs with us but couldn’t sit around all day waiting for a cleaning crew. There was nowhere else to go on Christmas Eve or we would have cancelled our stay & gone somewhere else. We were so disgusted we bought laundry detergent, washed the nasty bedding, and hand washed the floors. Also, the dog run has 2 slats in the fence completely missing - any dog under 70lbs could escape. The property is fenced except for the east side of home where no one bothered to complete a 2 ft foot wide gap at the end of the home, so most dogs could trot on out to the front yard and street beyond. This owner should refund our money and consider a career change. When I asked for the first night stay to be credited instead, I never heard back. Scammer all the way.
