Besides some fireworks for the 4th this place was very relaxing. All the birdsongs, crickets and frogs around the property made us feel like we were much further outside of town but with good restaurants and shops just a mile or 2 away. Great location for daytrips to St Simons or Jekyll Island. We would definitely like to stay again sometime but will bring more kitchen supplies.
Myself and two other friends came to this beautiful community to visit a friend who resides in Darien. We had a fantastic time exploring the community and had a very comfortable house to come home to in the evenings! Everything was superb!
Lovely little place in Darien. My family and I needed a place to stay with our pets prior during a move back to the area. It ended up that we were in the house while Hurricane Debby came through the area. The house was as advertised- comfortable, on a quiet and peaceful street near everything in town. Even with the storm, the WiFi was great, toys, games, grill were all welcomed bonuses. It was easy to contact the hosts and they were very responsive and flexible.
The property overall was good but missed several important convenience and safety features inside (no hanging space for clothes and no grab bars for safety in a sliding glass door shower door which was wobbly). out side the property was a general disappointment, old broken down sheds, unkempt overall. We had a long stay 3 1/2 weeks so having the convenience of hanging space and grab bars was important.
The management was very helpful answering questions and quickly attending to a few problems.
This rental had only a few renters up until our visit so as a newer place the owner will most likely make the recommended changes.
The Darien area met our expectations for a quiet off the beaten track place to explore, enjoy the historical features, the birding, the excellent seafood and friendly people.
