This is an old hotel. There’s no way around that. But at least in the room we had it was clean and somewhat updated. There are a few updates that could still be done in the bathroom, but we have no complaints. The fridge worked well and the room was quite spacious. The space of what it seemed in the pics was why we chose this hotel over another one in the area because their rooms are very small (like couldn’t hardly walk around the bed as it took up the whole room small). We were very pleased that the room was as spacious as it appeared in the pics. The AC worked wonderfully and the mattress was very comfy. Overall for the price we would definitely consider staying here again as it gives us the ability to have a few days away to visit family without being crowded in with family. Only detraction I had was that we booked a King room for a reason, and upon check in the guy seemed like he wanted me to agree to a Queen room that was on the first floor. (I wasn’t aware it was a two level hotel, but the end with our Non-Smoking King room was indeed two floors.) I said, no we would take the King room we booked. Not sure what that was about, but the stairs were easy to navigate and I’m glad I decided to keep the room as is. Also, if you’re staying here, please respect their pet policy. It seems that some people are disrespecting that rule and that it’s created problems for people who are just a small business owner. Don’t be those people who do that. It’s rude.

Exceeding expectations

The staff is exceedingly courteous and responsive. We were surprised to find that the room was straightened and cleaned each day. We've stayed at other establishments in this area, but the Palace is the best.

This is an old motel and one of few in this town. It’s very surprisingly clean with new mattresses, sheets, & towels, sheets, & room are always white & clean!

It's dirty

We arrived later in the evening around 9pm to check in. First reaction walking in was that the sheets/bed looked dirty. Bed was made but just looked dirty. My wife and I grabbed dinner on the way so we used the table in the room. I couldn't sit all the way back in the chairs because they looked like they haven't been cleaned in 30 years from sitting in a shed somewhere. After eating I went to take a shower and an old used soap bar was half melted on the soap stand, water smelt funny as well. After getting ready for bed I noticed there was half drunken water bottles still on the night stand that weren't ours. Now I know the hotel price was cheap, but all of the ones in the area were within $5 of each other. I honestly told my wife I would have enjoyed staying in a tent out there more. Took me several days to decide to leave this review but it's honest and I don't want someone else's trip to be disappointed because of there choice of room.

We hardly had any hot water as a family of 3 it was not enough for even a 10 minute hot shower. Also the day of check out we had the dnd sign it was not 11 yet it was around 10:40 and house cleaning had barged in the room without knocking.
