Floors were terrible dirty with hair and garbage everywhere. We had to wipe the floor down so we could walk around in our socks without getting chunks on them. One of the middle blankets on the bed had stains on it. Room was NON SMOKING but smelt like heavy smoke. I have staid at this hotel main times and never experienced this level of uncleanliness before.
The room was clean, smelled new. The only problem we had was the noise from the interstate and the windows really could use some blackout curtains because the entire room was lit up all night by the parking lot lights, even with the blinds closed. Blackout curtains would also help with the noise levels. The price was excellent compared to other options for the event we attended and we would stay again.
Arrived an hour after check-in time only to find our room had not been cleaned, blanket on the floor and no sheets on the bed. The second room that was offered had a faulty lock with the door knob hanging off, requiring a person to forcibly close the door in order to close it.
When asked to be refunded I was told initially I would be provided with the owners phone number to call him the next day. I was later told by the same clerk he could no longer give out the number but would take down my information and that the owner would give me a call. As I did not believe I was able to secure my room for the night I did not stay at Iron Horse Inn, driving to another hotel (Super 8) that provided a clean and secure hotel room.
I would not recommend this hotel. As of this date I still have not received a call from the owner and believe I will not be reimbursed.
