The house is in excellent shape and offers lots of creature comforts and amenities. The kitchen is well equipped, above average for Vrbo. We enjoyed hiking in the community.
The view was beautiful and we had such a great time on the hikes and at the clubhouse! The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare dinners at night and everyone had plenty of space . Sheila was great to work with as well!
The cabin was great. Nice and secluded but not too far from nearby towns. Sheila was the perfect host, responding quickly to our questions and giving us plenty of information on things to do.
Excellent accommodations with gorgeous views! Great layout, clean and comfortable furnishings and very well stocked (kitchen and games/toys)! Community has so much to offer - frisbee golf, hiking trails (some are pretty intense!) and community center. Hosts were very kind and easy to communicate with. Highly recommend and already trying to plan our return.
Great host, location, and cabin. There's plenty of entertainment options, we loved the wood and gas fire choices, and the HVAC setup made sure everyone was comfortable in their rooms. The only improvement I can think of is some portable clothes hangers for the winter season with a large group. I'd strongly recommend it to anyone for a mountain getaway
Our cabin was very clean, organized and pet friendly. We appreciated the baby gates and pack-n- play available for us to use. The views were Amazing from the back deck.
Cabin is clean and has a great layout. 3rd time we have stayed at Lucky Dog and itâs perfect every time. Thank you for sharing your home with our family. Powder Horn is a little piece of paradise.
The place was great and it was accurate to all pictures and amenities. It was one of our familyâs favorites, and weâve been doing cabin stays in the area for many years!!. Thank you to everyone involved
During a very busy graduation and very congested Boone, this was a fabulous get away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds. The views were spectacular and Sheila was very informative and was a super host. Thanks for sharing your lovely place!
We stayed there for 2 nights as a spontaneous trip and we regretted how little time we had in there! The cabin is located in such a beautiful and quiet area, nestled in the woods with a mountain view. The house is well equipped with family/dog friendly amenities and games. The owner is super communicative and helpful. We enjoyed our short stay very much and would love to come back again!
Our family had a wonderful stay at the Lucky Dog Cabin to celebrate Christmas. Sheila was a great host, who responded quickly, and gave great recommendations for our family with littles. The downstairs room was a fun area for the kids. She had everything we needed there. We will definitely stay again
This cabin is amazing! It has enough space for 12 plus people to sleep. Has almost anything you may need that you could have forgotten. We had an infant, 3 teenagers and my husband and I. There are toys, pack n play, and other items that were very kid friendly! There was plenty for them to do at the cabin where we didnât feel we had to go go go the whole time. Had great communication from beginning to end. Would definitely recommend and we canât wait to go back!
We had a wonderful stay with 8 people including teens. We all had a very nice time. The views from the deck are so beautiful! The house was very clean. The kids enjoyed tha game room in the house and clubhouse and used the paddle boats. The drive really is steep and I would recommend following Sheilaâs directions. We cooked every meal there and the kitchen was very well set up with all the pots, pans, etc. we needed. We would definitely come again!
Our family of 4 + our dog stayed at Sheila's cabin and had a great time. The view from the deck is phenomenal, the beds were very comfortable and the kids loved all the toys and games available at the cabin. The cabin has a cozy mountain cabin vibe, and everything was sparkling clean with a well-stocked kitchen. Sheila was incredibly responsive and reached out proactively with detailed directions and suggestions before check-in.
The location is a bit remote, so it isn't the most convenient in terms of making quick trips to restaurants and stores, but our family was happy to cook and eat in most nights.
My family enjoyed our stay in this area, dogs enjoyed the deck, walk around the lake and down to the campground, once we drove through the creek to the immediate right there was a nice trail that took you to a waterfall. My grandson learned to play fussball wanted Nana every morning to go play the âbig gameâ (Pac-Man), I would recommend Old Barn Winery, Ashe County Cheese, Alpine Coaster and Tweetsie Railroad was a big hit. It rained the last day we were there which was perfect to use the fireplace. I would have like to have gotten the tv and dvd to work downstairs, but overall we had fun and enjoyed much needed family time. Sheila was responsive and was very informative, thanks again!
Itâs a beautiful cabin with a very good feel to it. The owner was very responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. The upstairs shower is quite small and thereâs no light. The clubhouse is awesome with a decent pool table and ping-pong and a really good gym for working out. The trail around the pond was a nice walk as well. It is a bit far into the mountain with high steep windy roads and about a 3 mile patch of gravel to get there. Also, the pictures showed canoes and kayaks on a lake which turned out to be a pond. When we got there, we were told that these are private canoes and kayaks, which sucked.
We had a wonderful time and wish we couldâve extended our stay. It was nice and cozy, just as described. The kitchen was well stocked, beds were comfortable, and plenty of space for our group of 7 and the dog.
We celebrated 5 November birthdays in our group. The weather could not have been more perfect! We enjoyed dinner outside on the open porch then the fire downstairs on the enclosed porch later in the evening.
My only suggestion would be additional lighting in the kitchen. It was a bit hard to see while cooking.
Overall it was a great experience!
