had a really nice couple of nights at the Havelli. quite a unique place I think. It’s in the heart of old Delhi but all things considered remarkably peaceful. I wasn’t entirely sure when I read the reviews but I’m glad I went there. Some clarification for those who are uncertain 1. It’s on a little pedestrian lane that’s actually not too busy and very sweet. 2. Incredibly centrally located. A couple of minutes walk from the mosque. 3. Felt very safe. The usual warnings about pick pockets but I never felt in the slightest bit worried. 4. access is actually quite easy. Bike tuk tuks will take you pretty much to the door. and the road is only a minute or so walk away. 5. there is another property about 50 yards away which also sounds lovely but I didn’t stay there. 6. very fine restoration. I’m told it took five years and I can believe it. I don’t know that you’d want to stay there for a week. Just because old Delhi is a bit overwhelming. But for two or three nights it’s an experience not to be missed. A haven of peace in a cacophonous frenetic but fascinating part of the city.

Special renovated time machine in central Delhi

A special place to stay right in the heart of Old Delhi. Not easy to get to by taxi, but the hotel sent a runner out to the main street to help with luggage and guidance. Worth the extra effort!

Property is located in the middle of the bazaar and offers a surprising contrast between the craziness of the bazaar and the charm of this UNESCO acclaimed palace. Beautifully renovated palace and food were great. We arrived at night and traversed a maze of narrow lanes until we finally found the hotel - it is a cool experience.

The hotel is lovely and unique. Staff were excellent. Kite flying was so much fun. The restaurant catered well for vegans at breakfast. Only snag is that it was a little difficult to find and there are some steep steps at the front of the building, so a little difficult for those with impaired mobility.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Haveli. I felt the building itself had so many stories to share and a must stay for anybody wanting an authentic Delhi experience. The staff were extremely hospitable and accomodating. It was like staying in a close friend’s home. The only downside was the surrounding streets of Old Delhi. Whilst it was safe and provided a short walk to Jama Masjid and the Ref Fort, it’s not the cleanest surroundings - this is no fault of the property itself.

Great Sojourn in "Old Delhi"

Wonderful spot in Shah Jehanabad (Old Delhi). There are not many options to stay in the old city, but this is lovely, if a bit quirky. Renovation has been true to the building's integrity, which might make some rooms smaller than one might expect. The a/c worked well on a 47C day. Really exactly what I wanted and expected in this wonderful area of Delhi. Kite flying and pigeons on roof a bonus. Drinks expensive but food good.

Located in a depressed, challenging spot, the hotel is still a shining example of Delhi’s past resuscitated into contemporary glory. Staff were so kind and welcoming, the restaurant food & atmosphere are spectacular, and still worth a stay. I hope to visit the other hotel properties.

Wonderfull, but separate buildings ..

The place was wonderfull, the staff was great .. However the buildings are separate (Golden Haveli) which means you will walk about 500 m down a narrow (sketchy) alley at night and early morning as the all food/ activities is in the main building. The tasting menu is relatively expensive and kinda boring
