Wonderful house on Shelp Lake

This house was just as described. The house is clean and nicely decorated and had everything we needed. The hot tub was nice and we used the fire pit one night. We had a little trouble initially using the keypad entry but the host responded immediately and was able to open it remotely. Would highly recommend this property for a quiet and remote experience. It’s about 15 minutes away from restaurants and shops.

Very accurate description in listing. The only disappointment was the water was too low to take out the pedal boat but we knew this was a possibility. The pedal boat is very nice and would be great for paddling around the lake. There are many kayaks available and we enjoyed our time on the quiet lake. The description was very honest and accurate for access to the water, this isn't a swim off the dock property if that's what you are looking for. It was perfect for our needs. The area is great still restaurants and groceries within 15 min drive. Nice big yard, plenty of wildlife to watch. The home was clean, updated and comfortable. The wifi was a little slow with multiple users but we had a good cell signal so were able to hot spot lap top as needed. Andrew was almost instant with his response to any questions/needs I sent him. Would definitely stay here again!

We loved our stay at this wonderful house on a peaceful lake. Enjoyed lots of quiet relaxation on the main level balcony and the lower level deck and fire pit. We especially appreciated the hot tub, the grill, and the tables for dining out on the balcony overlooking the water. Although it's not a good spot for swimming due to waterplants, we did enjoy getting out on the lake in the kayaks and paddleboat. We also loved the well-supplied kitchen, and comfy beds. Hosts are friendly and responsive to our questions. Overall a great stay!

Great Weekend Stay

We had a great stay at this house on the lake! We were in town for a wedding with my in-laws and our two kids (9, 11), plus our dog. The location was definitely more secluded and we liked that. We saw so many deer and birds and frogs. The fireflies were beautiful at night and the water was lovely. My husband and kids loved taking the paddle boat out, though the lily pads were a bit challenging to get through initially. The beds were so comfy! We had plenty of room and the bathrooms were nice. We liked having lots of outdoor seating in the mornings and evenings. The power was out due to a storm when we checked in but the host informed us ahead of time. It took a while for it to come back on so the house got pretty hot, but our host kept us updated with estimated times for it to be restored. We were also offered a later check out due to the inconvenience, which we really appreciated! We would definitely stay here again and recommend this to other friends hoping to visit the area.

Beautiful property

Everything was beautiful! Nice hot tub. Great padre boat. Right on the lake. No big deal but There was no big skillet or strainer in the kitchen. These are minor things but I wish I would have known so I could have brought my own. We wished there was stairs going off the upper deck for our dog with hip issues. We would definitely go back though. It was a great place!

Wish we had another day

We stayed here for an out of town wedding for my son. We could have used another day to relax in the hot tub and enjoy the beautiful deck overlooking the lake. Really nice home to relax for a few days.

Secluded nature-y getaway

Lovely secluded property that included all the amenities you might need for nice weekend getaway! The lake was peaceful and we had a great time using the paddleboat. The property was also great for backyard birding, I saw many species over our short stay here. We made use of the hot tub and fire pit and kitchen was stocked with utensils and cooking ware for cooking your own meals. Would come back again!

Remote and relaxing!

This property was just as we expected from the listing. We enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets, the hot tub, and the pool table.The kitchen has everything you need to cook and stay in, which is always a plus.Note - there were no soaps or shampoos in the bathroom, so remember to bring your own!

States wrestling tournament

This worked perfectly for what we needed. My kids were wrestling in a state tournament and we needed a place to relax, cook and sleep in between the chaos. This location had everything we needed to make that possible. Host is quick to respond when I reached out.

Beautiful property, clean, spacious, secluded.

My family loved the updated home from the time we walked through the door. Very clean and had everything we needed for us to enjoy our stay! No stores are nearby; however a quick 20-minute drive can get you to Walmart and other stores.

Comfortable House - even in winter

House feels very new and clean. Beds very comfortable. Kitchen well stocked, especially given its small size.Folks should be aware that one bedroom is only accessible thru another room. It worked out fine, but there was some teen angst about it initially.

Small after the holiday gathering

Property was as described and contact with owner was prompt. No issues with entry, kitchen appliances, hot tub, heating, etc. Everything was in working order. We enjoyed playing games, doing puzzles, hot rubbing and watching the Lions win. Overall a great family experience.

Winter getaway

Chose to stay here for a little mini getaway over new years with the family. The hot tub and pool table were the selling points since we wouldn’t be able to spend much time outdoors. Property was as described with nice updates throughout. Dual zone. Eat temp controls are nice for keeping each floor comfortable The couches in the living room were comfy and my son loved how they reclined.

Fun Wintertime Getaway

My friends and I stayed here for a pre-holiday weekend trip. The house and surrounding property were peaceful and the views were stunning. The hot tub and pool table were very nice amenities. First-rate accomodations. Highly recommended!

Family getaway

The property had everything we needed for having a family get away! The kitchen was stocked with everything you could need for cooking, the Blackstone was perfect! The beds were comfortable and plenty of space for us all! We had a great time playing pool! The only thing we couldn’t do was get on the lake as the water level is down too far and didn’t reach the dock but the view was spectacular with the fall colors. We were able to have a bonfire and the hot tub was clean and Hot! Overall a fantastic place.

Our October Shelp Lake Stay

We enjoyed our stay at this nice residence on Shelp Lake. Cleanliness if highly considered with our brother golf group and this home certainly met that criteria. There was ample room for our needs, and the remote aspect of the property is refreshing. A few notes: the entry system on the front door is sun drenched in the afternoon, and as such, was rendered inoperable. A call to the host solved that situation nicely with a remote "unlocking". Perhaps a cover over the entry system would eliminate that first world issue. Having a few cooking spices, etc. on hand would be useful as most places we stay for our trips do offer those nice considerations. Lastly, and not a major fault, is glassware for beverages, versus plastic glasses would offer a nice touch. The new grill is amazing to cook with, as it was nice and clean prior to use, and we took good care of it after use. Overall, a delightful property that we will rent again on our next adventure to the Delton, Michigan area. Thank you
