Top five worst hellholes--every possible nightmare

Every nightmare you've ever had is at this hellhole. Not exaggerating-- I've stayed in insanely bad places in my lifetime and this certainly is in the top five. You're faaaaar better sleeping in your car anywhere than here. Do whatever you need to to avoid it.

Room smelled like bug spray, cigarettes & urine. Dried blood spot bathroom wall. I used my own clorox wipes before touching anything. Loud people outside several times overnight. Motorcycle races on street most of night. Unfortunately due to further tests ordered by my surgeon, I had to add a 2nd night to my stay. Front desk clerk Alicia said ok same room but that I had to check-in again for that reservation which I did. When I got to room ALL my belongings were gone. I asked front desk where they were & she said "I dont know--probably in the trash". I asked her if she wanted a guest (me) to go thru the trash. She tried calling housekeepers (of course gone for the night) but no callbacks. I started going thru trash bins. Eventually she opened some storage room & most of my belongings there. I went to front desk & got refund for the 2nd night & asked for manager name. I couldnt get out of that dump fast enouhh. After 3 hrs into my 6-hr drive home, I called Alicia to tell her I had left my cane (recent hip replacement) either in the storage room or near front desk. She was very snippy & said she'd call me if found. It has a tracking tag attached but doesnt work long distances (I live 6 hrs away). Never heard from her & doubt she ever even looked for it. She wasnt the least bit concerned, tried to blame me for LaQuinta's lack of communication with housekeeping when a guest extends visit an extra night. Will NEVER stay at ANY LaQuinta again

Very dirty, couch with a lot of dog hair, bathroom is dirty, dirty clothes of previous occupants possibly were left behind the shower door. Though the receptionist was very helpful in trying his best to help us solving the problem. Thanks to him.

The front desk agent was friendly. The beds were made and bathroom was clean. Carpet was dirty, coffee maker was missing a piece and no shampoo or conditioner in room. Elevator was also broken.

Our room had not been cleaned and when my husband talked to the front desk he was given sheets to change it himself! The hotel was nice and the location convenient but, they need to clean the property. It was dirty in every area.

We were given the wrong room number/key causing us to walk in on someone sleeping. We had dirty bed linens and they didn't want to give us new ones...then told us that the hotel was older and we might still have stained blankets but they promise they are clean. We requested a late checkout in advance and was told they would make a note of it, but then told that they have to be approved by a manager and no manager was on site.

The room looked nice but all of the linens were used and used exclusively. The staff would not change the linens on the beds the staff had let someone in and I came back to the Hotel and there was urine in several areas of the carpet. The front clerk wouldn't call maintenance and so I needed to lay down bath mats in the effected areas. There were very young "questionable people" hanging around my door and I had to call authorities. :( not a recommended stay.

Meh.... better than sleeping in your car

I traveled to Golden last minute for a friend's wedding. I made a reservation here because it was low cost. It's not the worst motel I've ever stayed in but it's pretty rundown. The room was pretty dirty. There are no outlets for charging devices at all, I had to unplug lamps and alarm clocks to access a plug-in next to the bed. The room had a refrigerator and a microwave but the refrigerator didn't really work. On top of that there was only two plugins near the microwave and refrigerator. One of the plugs was already being used by a lamp so that had to be unplugged in order to plug in the appliances which didn't have cords long enough to reach the plug-in so you had to slide things around to get things to reach. The beds were just double beds and had stains on the sheets. The mattresses were not terribly comfortable. The guy I dealt with at the front desk was actually pretty nice to deal with and took decent care of me when I had a door card reset and I had to get a new key card for my room. Location-wise it's right next to a gas station and pretty close to a pharmacy and some fast food places. It's not terribly located in Golden which was part of the reason I stayed there. If I wasn't so cheap I would probably stay somewhere else in the future but it served its purpose.
