The hotel was an absolutely great value. Nice clean simple room, and the staff at check-in was super helpful. I left really early in the morning so really didn't have much of a chance to see what was around. There was a few convenience stores for quick snacks and a short drive away was some fast food restaurants

I have never stayed in such a run down nasty hotel. It’s by the highway, and you hear it loud and clear. Never again. Traveled to Winterset after leaving Des Moines stayed a a hotel called Cobblestone it was beautiful, very clean, free breakfast, great service, bar. For a few dollars more than the hotel in DesMoines. I will stay there from now on, even though it’s an hour outside of DesMoines.

The staff is very nice and very understanding. The only thing I didn't like was I had to walk quite a distance to get food because I didn't have a car. But the owner or the main manager I think he's the owner was helpful and did offer a ride but not to me because he didn't know I needed a ride
